Two members of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol are on administrative leave and 180 cases have been dismissed as the patrol looks into the troopers' credibility.
The investigation stems from how Sgt. Garrett Macario and his supervisor, Sgt. Matthew Morrison, handled a chase and crash on Raleigh's Capital Boulevard in October 2024.
Natascha Fuchs owns Inkvictus Studios and prides herself on having a well-trained staff that's prepared to provide quality tattoos. The training they undergo is mandatory at Inkvictus but not by the state of North Carolina.

The Tennessee HP has been giving dui tickets to innocent people. There are now hundreds of lawsuits against them

It can be argued that Tennessee has engaged in fraud. How many times have we heard about motive in a crime? Constantly. Yet on our nation's highways there is motive to commit fraud by these DUI and narcotics task forces. DUI officers get awards for their arrests through MADD. Narcotics officers not only get awards but their departments also get to keep 80% of any cash recovered in a stop. Police have become incentivized to stop, accuse, imprison, and lie.

And sadly, that happens in every state. It’s just now coming to light. Cops don’t care what it takes to get their quota. It costs an innocent person THOUSANDS to prove their innocence after being falsely arrested. We’ve been told for years “Innocent until proven guilty “. NOT TRUE 😡

Ohio is no better. I suspect other states are the same. Coming from a law enforcement family, these guys are all just on a power trip. They give them a badge and a drill instructor hat and indocrrinate them that they are the STATE POLICE! They are the law. And the motoring public is the enemy combatant. They must at all times be looking for something to charge anyone and everyone with. Theyre just mobile tax collectors, you dont call the state police when you are in trouble, they wont show up. Theres no protecting or serving there's just taxation and intimidation.

As a lawyer in my state we were required to pay insurance to the State Bar. Also every attorney had to have a separate bank account for their legal practice and ALL the interest from that also went to the State Bar insurance. And same as doctors, if you got to many complaints and the Bar had to pay too much money for your malpractice you would be disbarred. Why not require the same of the police. They have to pay insurance from their salaries and if the claims and payments become to high immediately take away their license to be a cop.

@ Sounds like a decent model for resolution. Again, from where I'm from the police are educated and any promotion requires higher education. Not that we don't have our own problems in law enforcement, but it is on a totally different scale. Here, any use of firearms of officer on duty is investigated. And it is quite rare.

We have the same problem here in South Carolina with SC Troopers! I was stopped at a unlawful roadblock TWICE within THREE WEEKS by the same troopers at the same location and the same time of day 2pm! First time they demanded my DL, for no legal reason no PC or rAs. I explained they were violating my 4th Amendment Rights, still demanded it. Under threat of arrest I gave it up. Second Time three weeks later same troopers demand DL for NO reason, I said NO you are not violating my 4th Amendment Rights, they arrested me, put me in a jail cell with two dangerous drug addicts coming off their drugs, took 21 hours to get released (did I mention they towed my car from a public parking lot and space which cost me 300$ to get it out!) Went to court charge dismissed, complained to THREE state agencies incl the SC attorney general OIG NO ONE would investigate this felony crime against me! Finally contacted the DOJ and FBI about this case. Strangely months later that charge was expunged from the court records but I did NOT put the process in motion, the county states NEVER do that unless they are trying to cover up and hide something they did wrong. I hope the DoJ is looking into my case, I have updated them three times over the past year.

I'm a person that followed the rules, was the designated driver one night while drivinng home and happened to stray a little to close to the fog line while rounding a corner and got pulled over with his wife and another couple while comng home from a local professional hockey game. The cop was cordial, but said he smelled alcohol coming from the car, which is possible because there were three others in the car that had been drinking. I explained that I was the designated driver, but he must not have bought that and proceeded to arrest me when I would not comply to do field sobriety tests. I was cuffed and placed in the back of a cruiser while my wife and friends fended for themselves to find someone to come rescue them on the side of the road. At the police barracks, after the breathalyzer was turned on, allowed to warm up and calibration runs were done to confirm the machine was operating withiin limits, I was tested twice. The first time I blew 0.00, and the second time I blew 0.01. I complained that there was something wrong with the machine because I had no alcoholic beverages since Thansgiving. The officer agreed, he said there must be something wrong because he knew I had been drinking and said I was an F'n liar. He turned off the machne and when he turned it back on, he was pissed because it had to go though the whole startup warmup and test procedures again. Once again I tested, and blew 0.00 and 0.00. This visibly angered the cop, and I wasn't letting him forget what an ass he was. He was visibly upset and wanted to get me to sign an affadavit allowing my blood to be drawn. I told him if he wanted blood, then he would need to get a judge to sign a warrant, and if he failed to tell the judge that the warrant request was happening after what I blew and I found out, that he would lose his qualified immunity because he would have withheld exculpatory evidence to the judge that would exhonorate me, and he willfully violated my 4th and 5th amendments to the constitution which would certainly get him fired and possibly Brady listed so he never works in law enforcement again. He did the smart thing and backed down, but i was stupid, I should have kept my mouth shut and just objected. I wouldn't be writing this reply, because I'd be living in Cabo and going fishing every day with my windfall of millions.

" We, the police are immune to the law, but we love to enforce it upon you the citizen" if these cases are being dropped, are being dismissed is because these cops have committed some type of crime. How many times has these officers lied on reports? How many times has these officers violated? Somebody's civil rights. How many times has these officers looked the other way? While the other officers did the wrong thing? So right now is put on administrative leave. Basically, in plain Jane word, that means he's on paid vacation.. Mark my words, these cases will be quietly swept under the rug. These guys will be back on the road. Because the union will tell people, people said, it's okay to do bad things as a police officer. Qualified immunity and unions need to go away with these police departments. As soon as money starts coming out of these police officers pockets, this type of stuff will stop. Let me guess.
