@@TheBigLlamaShow From the last 5 Mayors of the city of Rio de Janeiro I believe only 1 was not sent to jail. Bangú 1 riots happened in September 11 of 2002. The guys they roasted was called Uê. He was plotting on his enemy but the guy heard about the plane and made the move first. Fraga is real too, he’s a Brazilian politician who was in charge of the investigation on the militias. He appeared in the movie, I believe he was in the classroom scene as one of the students. He was a teacher in real life. Freixo is his real name. Matias is based in a guy called Batista. If you see his interviews on the podcast you’re going to recognize him. After the success of the movie the director fled the country. Let’s say he was not being appreciated by the authorities. Everything that you see on the screen is still happening but it’s worst.
@23dsss-zp5jj16 күн бұрын
only the first movie though, the second one is fictional but based on true events about how these cop militias birth and raised. real nascimento retired as a cop and moved to the movies/tv industry as an adviser a couple years before the timeline portraited in the second movie

@@23dsss-zp5jj The concept of the movie is not to tell their stories. It has characters based on real people and real events. Just like the first one. They didn’t show how the militia started. But you can have an idea. People from Rio can recognize these characters.

In the early 2000 a big riot happened in bangu one prison, where criminals from comando vermelho (red command) murdered several enemies from ADA (amigos dos amigos - Friends of friends). The Beirada story opening the movie is a fictional representation based on that event.

I think in addition to how fraga painted Nascimento the mother didn't try earlier to maintain a certain balance. Being in special forces doesn't mean you have to kill everybody but you do the job that helps people like fraga to sleep soundly at night. The boy didn't have this explanation sooner.

The movie has so many backstage storys, but i see how do you like the actors and the scenes and they was construct by a grate actors trainer Fátima Toledo. She was tough and put the actor to slap and fight to create the angry and tense scenes.
@brunofascio602217 күн бұрын
There is an element missing from the power dynamics portrayed in the film. You see the militia occupying the space left by the drug traffickers in the favelas while the BOPE cleaned it up, and the symbioses between the militia and the politicians. The militia makes money by controlling people's access to goods and services in the favelas, and guarantees the blind eyes of elected officials for their activities, as long as they deliver the votes of their communities. In the film, you get the impression that this was a new tactic, but the progressives had the same system, only they were doing it with the drug dealers. There is a reason why Beirada called Fraga to negotiate in the prison incident. Fraga is made to look like a human rights good guy type of character, because that's the illusion progressives use to look good in the public eye while protecting the drug lords who not only finance their campaigns, but secure their votes in the election, same as the militia did. This film was financed by the department of culture of the time, which was controled by progressives who were the oposition. The conclusion is, there is no power vacum, they are all corrupt and they switch back and forth the control of the machine that grinds and feeds from ppls souls.

You go where the money leads you. Unfortunately for good people we always get screwed over as we are not seen as humans but rather numbers for votes or money. Sad. Thank you for watching and commenting!

such a shitty quote wtf. every film is financed by the culture deparment, you're talking shit.
@brunofascio602210 күн бұрын
@error-qz5lv you are correct, every film in Brasil is made by progressives with public funding. It's called cultural war. Antônio Gramsci's strategies to power were adopted by South American communists instead of the traditional class struggle approach.

It would be nice if this was just a movie, right? Rio de Janeiro is one of the most corrupt states in the country, run by criminals. 3 State Governors have already been arrested. But the whole of Brazil is run by crime. One of the biggest drug traffickers in the country, a member of one of the biggest factions, left through the front doors of the prison, with an apology and had his goods returned, including helicopters that were already in use by the Police and Firefighters. A minister of the Superior Federal Court released him. The President of this Court is a dictator, who transgresses laws in the name of the left. He is the true leader of the country. The current President, responsible for the biggest corruption case in history, had his conviction annulled and all those responsible for his arrest were persecuted, lost their positions or were arrested. There is no way for Brazil anymore!

This left and right thing is just to keep us fighting. Divided we don’t look for the real problem. We always gonna back up the politician who is against the side we don’t like. Even if we discover he’s no different from the others. When people realize they’re being used things are going to change. Right or left, the politicians are all rich and the people fighting for them are in the bottom.
