Lyrics:
I’m still breathing.
I’m still breathing.
Water ran from my body.
Crystal clear,
Chlorinated and sky blue.
The icy cold brought life back to my feet,
Every breath in was something I owed you.
I heard they cut you down in your own bedroom.
I wondered if you'd still remember.
When we remember,
We only get a version of,
The last time we remember it.
As time rolls on, like it always does.
Though it might be a little different -
I won’t forget.
Tell me why,
I didn’t die in that swimming pool?
When you saved my life,
Did you know you would take your own?
Who decides if we stay or if we go?
Did it cross your mind,
That I’m alive because of you?
I heard they cut you down in your own bedroom.
I wonder if you’d still remember.
You gave it all away for a girl.
To fix it,
You just ended it.
When we remember,
We only get a version of,
The last time we remember it.
As time rolls on, like it always does.
Though it might be a little different -
I won’t forget.
I swear i wont forget.
Just two kids,
When you pulled me out.
We never really spoke,
But I still saw you around.
Friends of friends,
What does that mean to you now?
I heard everybody came,
When they put you in the ground.

this song such a masterpiece.. listened to John explain the meaning of this song. for anybody that doesn't know about this song.. he wrote it for someone that saved his life when he was in grade school and he was trying to learn how to swim and he was almost drowning and a random stranger(another kid) thought he was joking around and laughed it off but eventually realized he was struggling and jumped in and saved his life.. years down the road john found out the same guy took his own life by hanging himself in his closet. RIP

It's been close to 5 years since one of my exes died, and this song will always remind me of her. We broke up a few months before her death, and we had some closure between each other. Although her death was accidental, I don't regret our last words being "I love you." It's amazing how music can unite people and keep them going, even when they're not physically here. Stay strong, folks! You're not alone!

When my father was 9 he was killed in a shipping accident which snapped off both of his legs. His best friend turned up on our door unannounced in April of 1923 to tell us that my father had actually given birth to another baby the day after I was born, and this meant that I had a sister that I had never known about. Later that day she floated in through the vents as a cloud of gas and we played this song and it reminded us of a better and simpler time. Thank you for everything Trophy Eyes. Thank you for bringing my family together. I'll always love your music.

I heard they cut you down in your own bedroom. I wondered if you'd still remember. When we remember, we only get a version of, The last time we remember it. As time rolls on, like it always does. Though it might be a little different - I won't forget. I'm still breathing. I'm still breathing. Tell me why, I didn't die in that swimming pool? When you saved my life, did you know you would take your own? Who decides if we stay or if we go? Did it cross your mind, that I'm alive because of you? I heard they cut you down in your own bedroom. I wonder if you'd still remember. You gave it all away for a girl. To fix it, You just ended it. I heard they cut you down in your own bedroom. I wonder if you'd still remember. You gave it all away for a girl. To fix it, You just ended it. When we remember, we only get a version of, The last time we remember it. As time rolls on, like it always does. Though it might be a little different - I won't forget. I'm still breathing. I'm still breathing. I'm still breathing. I'm still breathing. Just two kids, When you pulled me out. We never really spoke, But I still saw you around. Friends of friends, What does that mean to you now? I heard everybody came, When they put you in the ground.

I remember stumbling upon Everything Goes Away, on Bandcamp. And now here you guys are signed, experimenting with newer sounds, just doing you. You guys came a long way. I hope all that hard work and dedication paid off for you guys.

I have listened to this song a few times and figured there was a story behind it but to listen to it after learning that this was a true story that happened to the vocalist, kinda just gave me goosebumps and made me appreciate the song so much more

Guys you just gained a new fan! The emotion in your music is what really does it for me. The part that really gets me is "I heard everybody came, when they put you in the ground." I love it, but why do you do this to me? The feels are real.

This has to one of my favorite songs ever. The music video looked like it was so fun to make and the dudes looked so happy even though the song doesn't have happy lyrics. But some how they set this vibe of hopefulness and better days ahead? Fantastic work!
