Tropical Farm Tour in Panama

Welcome to My Little Tropical Farm. We are glad you are interested in our farm as we grow into a more sustainable homestead.
We have been battling illnesses this week so we haven't been very active on the farm. We show a full farm tour of the garden, the food forest, and the chickens. I didn't head back to the orchard because after our last snake encounter I wanted to avoid the possibility of another one.

I'm excited about gardening there. It'll be a whole new thing for me. That's the only thing I will miss about here is my little food, forest and wildlife habitat. Thank you so much for your videos. It's so fun to see the possibilities! Do you grow herbs? And if so what grows well there? Have you tried floating row covers to mitigate the bug problem?

Hi. I do grow some herbs. I grow Cuban oregano (it grows like a weed), culantro, ginger, turmeric and have just recently added lemongrass. I’m trying to grow rosemary, and parsley as well but they aren’t as foolproof as the others.

@Mylittletropicalfarm it's so nice of you to answer! I'm always impressed at you taking the time. A little hint for the rosemary, they love white sand and pea gravel used all around under the plant like a mulch. This might cut down a little bit on the humidity around the base of the plant. I also tuck shells in around them. I do the same thing for my lavender, and they thrive incredibly. I can't wait to get down there and garden and see what will and won't work. You are really inspiring me❤️ Thank you again!!!!
