I am a huge fan of your stuff, but I wish you would use a landing net (both to avoid possible break offs, and keep fish handling to a minimum) and wash your foredeck to help the fish out a bit in the scorching Queensland sun. I know you have utmost respect for the fish you catch - it's been obvious through the years. But a couple of small things might avoid that 'tripping out' by the fish. Anyway, not preaching but offering food for thought. Cheers.

Yeah agreed, the main killer fish is being out of water too long, we carry buckets with us when rock and surf fishing to put the fish in when doing tags and photos to keep air exposure to a minimum. I understand get the shot for youtube takes time, but some of the fish are out the water too long and like you say on a hot dry deck.

Usually the ones I’ve caught release pretty well. This fight was a bit longer due to the light setup i was using though. Spend the time reviving them and they will usually be ok i think mate
