Whoever wants to experience South America as a nature paradise in a small area, should explore Costa Rica. Almost half of the country is covered by rain forest. Numerous animal species are to be found here like the White faced Capuchin, colourful parrots like the Macaw, Veruga Parakeets and Tapirs.
Also lizards from primeval times have their habitat in this region of the planet. The small central American nation not only fascinates with a rich fauna and flora but also with a wonder world under water. Insights into the fascinating world of the jungle show examples like the epiphytes that make their way to the sky at the expense of her host plant.
A view into the culture of the Indian inhabitants of the rain forest of course does not come too briefly either. A diving excursion through the ocean waters of Cocos Island is the highlight of the journey. The spectator will get flesh crawl while watching hundreds of dangerous hammerhead sharks gliding past the camera.

I did my undergraduate studies in Anthropology with Stephen Hale PhD and Richard Persico PhD of Georgia Southern University, Statesboro Ga. We lived among the Kuna of San Blas. As a Member of the Creek Nation I was warmly welcomed as a native American. It would have been so easy to have married and remained. Thank you for the documentary and wonderful memories.

Well that's really sad the native people never were worried about being naked until the missionaries came and gave them shame as a gift. 😢

Yes.. we know this. My comment was sarcasm because I’m baffled people still use the word incorrectly even though it’s offensive to many of us.

mistakes done in this documentary: 1. Panamá is not part of the central american istmus. 2. Kunas didn´t live in San Blas island during the spanish conquista... they moved there after. 3. The tribe that you showed at the river they are not kunas.. they are emberras. They live in Darien, very far away .. but you said they live alone the canal... just some of them moved to the chagres ans pequeni river in the decade of ´70´s for tourism razons. What you show is embera puru.. a little tourism village. 4. Panamá doesn´t have oceans on the east or west... there is the caribbean on the north and the pacific ocean on the south... in the east there is colombia and on the west there is costa rica. 5. you didn´t show Panamá city... wich is one of the most modern city in latinamerica... be serius...

their culture doesn't hold them captive. That is racist bs. The captivity is from invading Europeans and their destructive legacy. They were the people who should have felt shame and were in need of spiritual redemption not the unclothed native peoples.
