Using sustainably harvested sponge slices from Tropical Sea Sponges to embed into a loaf of melt and pour soaps. Buy them here! etsy.me/2UojEpw This listing has a special 10% off for you until May 19th. When I placed my last order of sponges, Tropical Sea Sponges were so kind and offered me some free sponge slices to test in melt and pour soaps and share my process with you! If you wish to try this, please take note that this process is not recommended for cold process as the lye could damage the natural sea sponges.

Please, anyone who gets a knife like that, be CAREFUL. i have one and it will cut a scarf like a sword if you threw it over it. Can take a finger vs just cut it allittle. I do not allow anyone else to handle or even clean it. that is how dangerous they can be... her soaps always so pretty. surprised the sponge cuts so easily. thought she was going to have issue with that. looks great!
@ArianeArsenault
@ArianeArsenault 5 жыл бұрын
Any knife needs to be handled with care. Here is my tip, never sharpen that blade. I have had this knife for 16 years and by keeping the blade dull, it still cuts through soap like a charm but isn’t as sharp. Sponges are suer soft and offer no resistance to cut through

What all different things can you add to melt and pour? Just ordered stuff to make a few bars for my home but didn’t know you could add stuff like honey!! Love this video have been watching for years
@gaiagoddess8009
@gaiagoddess8009 5 жыл бұрын
You can add oils like coconut, almond, jojoba, avocado, honey - 1 Tbsp per pound of MP. You can add ground or semi-ground oatmeal when it's starting to thicken. You can add dried things like poppy seeds and lemon or orange peel - I use the ones you buy in the herb section of the grocery store. These last 4 are used as exfoliating ingredients, but you don't want to add too much.
@christybrooks3729
@christybrooks3729 5 жыл бұрын
Be careful that you don’t add too much oils because they will sit on top and your soaps will be very oily because the saponification process is done so there is no lye to confer the extra oils to soap. It’s not recommended to add extra oils if you haven’t done it before.
