As someone who worked for a construction company, you will appreciate that seeing the deck boards of a pier washed ashore is actually a good thing all else considered. If the deck boards are nailed, they pop off when submerged instead of floating the pilings. It is a lot easier to nail new boards in place than to resink pilings. If the deck boards are screwed in place you risk losing the whole pier

Good afternoon! I know I said it before but I’m still amazed at how high the surge was for a tropical storm. So much crud washed up. That pier 😢 Boat insurance isn’t too crazy, I was surprised it wasn’t more. Oof still a lot of water in that area. Hope Wayne, Melissa, and the kitties 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 fared ok through it all. Haha Hammer and his drinking. Bailey says “I do have a single malt open right now” 😂 Glad you had a nice birthday and water is drying out a bit after the storm. Hope you have a great Sunday! ❤

Hey Eric. Most of the town is completely untouched. Still a lot of debris on Fulton Beach Road in parts of it are closed. We just had a light rain and that can't help those people dealing with the flooding. I hope you and your family are doing well friend. I will have to check Facebook and see what you are up to.

@Allastrology I can't imagine friend. Where I lived in Philadelphia we would get some temporary flooding in certain areas at the bottom of hills, but they would be gone the next day. The fun never ends.

Is Water Street still flooded? There is a house that we like to stay at that is on that street. There is a covered picnic table on the water side of the street right across from the house which is on stilts.

As of around 2 PM today water Street was still closed off. So is Shell Ridge Road. I have friends that live on there and they can come and go, but they're asking to stay away.

We were really fortunate buddy. Lots of debris along the roads along the bays. There was a small tornado that did some damage at the end of the peninsula, but no one was injured. Just another fun day in Texas. I watched a replay of your live stream this morning. Left a few comments.

Unfortunately, Rockport Beach is still closed as of today. I'm sure there's a lot of debris there that they are working hard on. Those poor crews must be exhausted at this point.
