Had sterling moon here south of Atlanta GA for several years. Absolutely love it.. Enjoys rich soil full of humous and consistent moisture. If kept moist will tolerate a lot of sun.

Hi glad you have done a review on begonias as my sister has just bought me a one from a garden centre near West Bay I know it’s really houseplant but at the moment looks amazing in the garden border Begonia Benitochiba it’s called and looks amazing therefore I am really interested in the new varieties that are hardy and now available to buy. Thanks so much for your regular updates and at last the the weather is warming up to appreciate our tropical garden.

Benitochiba is a great one, I’ve experimented with it outdoors before but it didn’t survive winter. We’ve got 3 varieties of hardy Begonias available at the moment with more in propagation soon 😀🪴

Where’d you find them? I’m down in Woodland Washington, just north of Portland. I’d love to add them to my garden

@@WoodlandT I ordered from Crimson Horticultural Rarities out of Oakland , CA..sadly they arrived yesterday barely alive and totally trashed from shipping. Hoping they bounce back. However check out b. Smooches and other more common hardy begonias from Cistus Nursery on Sauve Island !

Hi Craig, noticed a few holes in some leaves, I'm plagued with slugs and snails, do they tend to like begonias?

Hi, They can be but are far from the worst victims in my garden this year.

Hi Craig, I’m Very tempted! Do you think in my north west garden (wet and cold) they’d be ok planted out in spring and summer and dug up for winter?
@GrowParadise4 ай бұрын
Oh absolutely! They’re very fast growing too 😀🪴
