thought we would get at least one C5 this year but not in NOVEMBER. We have had more major hurricanes in the greek alphabet than we did in the normal list, can 2020 just end already. The NHC should really consider adding a classification or hyper intensification for this storm and many other storms this season.

ok i must drop this here. i feel like this. they have data from 100 years of studing. everytime i hear about sea surface temp., wind sheer and other stuff that can affect it. they know how it will behave, they can see it now with all those instruments. they even know there will be rapid intensification. yet, couple days ago, this should have been just a cat 1, possibly 2 storm if everything is favourable. and see this. i know, cat 4 - 5 isnt really a big of a difference. but i feel like they know whats going to happen, but they cant tell the people, bc panic would occur and hysteria. then the path would change and the hysteria would start a few miles somewhere else. idk, or maybe is it the money ? or something else im missing ? if they said 4 days ago just get out, possibly cat 4 is being born.. but they didnt. and it happens so often, with eta, with so many storms now. am i wrong ? i know youre gonna say they want to be sure before saying that, but i feel they are pretty sure in the beginning. even you can tell when the conditions are favourable.

@PianoMan-hx3ev

I keep hearing people such as yourself cry climate change. What do you suppose we do? Would you be willing to give up your car? How about half of your food? The more you eat, the more greenhouse gases are emitted to produce that food. How about NOT having children? They emit greenhouse gases. How about using 80% less electricity all around? How about cutting your smartphone usage 80%? How about taking one for the team and doing your part? You see, there’s no easy answer and if we leave it up to big tech and govt, they’ll have us all in shackles. Step out of the box and take a look at the sun...that comment comes from a friend of mine who is a scientist.
@Toxoid49b
@Toxoid49b 4 жыл бұрын
@@PianoMan-hx3ev The largest contributors to the climate crisis are not individuals, but are primarily the result of current industry practices. Bad actors in the industries with the most climatological impact have pushed the narrative that it is up to individuals to solve the crisis when in reality sensible regulations to industry would dramatically improve climate change outlook. The only people who stand to loose anything from a paradigm shift to cleaner industry practices are those who profit from the ecological damage they inflict. In reality, taking steps toward a better climate and environment will result in improvements to technology, industry, and general quality of life.
@PianoMan-hx3ev
@PianoMan-hx3ev 4 жыл бұрын
Toxoid49b I like your answer, actually and agree in total. I’m just afraid we’ll lose our basic freedoms in the process. Beginning to wonder if those are just rabbit hole scare tactics in order to keep the status quo? Finding the truth on most matters is very hard in this day and age, isn’t it? Sheesh. I’m all for a clean environment. We should all be working towards that, along with individual freedoms for sure:)

Recon has it dropping in intensity with surface winds to 150mph but the pressure is still around 917mb. Will likely make landfall as a strong cat 4, devastating. There is no building codes in those coastal communities which are impoverished. Possible ongoing EWRC with a double wind maxima observed via recon.
