Right before the new HOI4 DLC, La Resistance, Tommy is going to be doing 1 last singleplayer achievement run but this time as Mexico. He has never experienced this focus tree so might as well try it out. But during this run, a familiar face is gonna come back. That's the boi in the thumbnail, Trotsky. Mexico is going to be lead by some random Russian guy who's gonna be controlled by some random German, ginger lad. Man what a world we live in nowadays, eh? Well that's HOI4 for you! This should also serve as a decent guide on how to play Mexico with some memes along the way. Today we're gonna be doing the last singleplayer game before La Resistance and it's going to be a Mexico game since Tommy wanted to experience the focus tree and maybe grab some achievements along the way. Don't worry, for all of you MP people...Multiplayer is going to be back next video and it's the only thing until la Resistance is out. Much better and more interesting videos coming after this. I mean, you can literally core Texas and most of the Southwest of the US later on in the focus tree, so...

You can actually rush the focus tree on the left side just go down through to nationalize the oilfields (US and Britain usually don't declare on you it's super rare that they do.) and then go to the comintern and leave so the other latin countries don't join a faction. you should be able to annex most of SA by 1938 Just make sure to watch the Rebellion and do the Cadillo focus whenever it gets to very high risk it will always lower the risk by one whenever you do the cadillo focuses.

You don't even have to abandon your faction to join the comintern, you can make stalin join your faction instead if you are powerful enough

It took me awhile to get the Trotsky achievement. I rushed the Nationalize Oil then joined the Commintern, then put Trotsky in power then invaded Iran, took the coastal province next to Iraq, left the Commintern, then invaded Irag, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, and my neighbors; then when the Axis invaded the USSR, I joined in and attacked them from the south. The only thing I would have done differently would be to invade Turkey before they join the Axis.
