Love these recent Trott fitting videos. My setup: 9° Qi10 "LS" set one tick to 9.75° with Ventus TR Blue VC 6x. As a 5 handicapper I found the CORE Qi10 difficult to keep in the fairway - I didn't want to overthink it even though I THOUGHT I'd be a CORE guy. LS won the day in the dispersion category. BY FAR. I wish Trott could tell me why that is.

Curious you said the Kai’li White is soft given that it’s supposed to have a stiffer tip section. What is it about that shaft that makes you say it’s softer?
@trottiegolf9 ай бұрын
That one wasn't stiff. I didn't measure the tipping but the profile didn't feel stiff to me or look stiff for our HITR. I went Fuji as I know the way that shaft performs at the speed we were dealing with. Once I'd called that change I built the club up around what I was seeing. If you watch a lot of my fitting you'll see I hate to jump all over the place on shafts, dangerous route to go with any fitting.

hey trottie quick question, does this video suggest that - depending on the person’s swing of course - a stiffer shaft can help eliminate the right side or was that just a product of a lower tee and trapping the ball? love the content as always!!

By going stiffer here I just wanted something to time up and stay with the player. The other changes were me wanting to mess with the club delivery.

@trottiegolf9 ай бұрын
Love that you're asking this question, you won't be 25 hcp for long. In this scenario I would take some time to help you find consistency and if we didn't get there I'd go off your wrist to floor measurements to guide me on length and then shot pattern would help me with lie. Bottom line you're close and once you do start getting the ball in the air the fitting process will help.

Trottie, I love your videos and have been following for a few years now, but calling a Kai’li white an overall soft and tip soft golf shaft just isn’t true. I know you were trying to illustrate a point when breaking down his previous fitting, but Kai’li white if far from being a tip soft golf shaft.
@trottiegolf9 ай бұрын
That build wasn't tipped and the swing weight was D4 ish, therefore the head and shaft combo wasn't particularly tight. Now can a Kai'li be assembled tighter YES, was that one..... NO
@Chris_Rowles9 ай бұрын
@@trottiegolf yes absolutely in this scenario, given he was in a ping head, which are naturally 6-8 grams heavier than a stock Taylormade head. The swing weight will also reflect that added weight. Just feel like there was an opportunity to add that little bit into the video to help educate other viewers as to why that shaft in this instance played soft. Given more “normal” head weight that shaft would have been closer to what most would expect out of a Kai’li white part. Not trying to nitpick a very small detail, just thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase how adding weight to a head will impact shaft and overall club performance.
@trottiegolf9 ай бұрын
@@Chris_Rowles fair…. But does come back to my theme of swingweight means so much. Hence why every other month i seem to send folks back to this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaiVeJSOiKqLb7Msi=1wVcHqHGeXLVFDPa As always though , I will reiterate , I don’t like to bounce all over with shafts. I always go to my tried n tested & what’s served me well in tight situations. That said if a FITR likes that shaft and weighs it correctly with the SW then I’m cool with it. I just feel given 1 pass I wanted to change it up and get the SW and head where I was confident. Just my style , not gonna sit here and claim I know everything about every shaft , just not how it works on tour as you’ll 9/10 times have a shaft rep on hand who can dive deep into that part if needed

The PROBLEM is there is such a LOW SUPPLY of people like Trottie Ian etc... big box is a joke just glorified baby sitters making sure you don't break something even Club Champion the fitters knowledge base can be extremely limited depending on the location.
@trottiegolf9 ай бұрын
You gotta remember both Ian and I are close to 20 yrs doing this. Me predominantly on tour and Ian we know his path (of which started yrs ago at TM). For me the thing is trust in the FITR and then how everything is handled to benefit the PLYR. I always say the PLYR calls the final decisions providing they're competent. Good fitters take time to find their style and then confidence to experiment. Having tour PLYR's and a truck was huge for me, not all people have that level to learn from.
