Joe Worrall broke his ribs early on in our match against Millwall a couple of weeks ago (and still finished the game!)... was supposed to be out for at least 6 weeks, so we were all surprised to see him in the lineup today. It doesn't always follow in the same season, because this mammoth effort takes it out on the team's energy, so often it's the season after, when you put it all together. Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Leeds are already back, when you look at how big The City Ground still is and most kids would say uhhhhhhh? If you told them you won European Cups back to back (It's 2022 and City still only have a Cup Winners Cup in 1970 and a Champions League Runners-Up once) I can't even remember how you ended up where you are, I want to say Nigel Clough, but I'm sure it runs deeper than that. Just remember, you had 5 starters in the England team in 1980. Form has not been good the last few years, but class is permanent. Brendan Rodgers can no longer see his wood, though the trees 🤣

@@stevenmacdonald9619 Yeah I agree a proper prem would have us, prob both Shef clubs, and arguably Boro, Sunderland and those horrible sheep, and lose the likes of Brentford, Watford, Burnley etc. It would look like an actual prem then. Or any combination of those. As for us ending up out of the prem for 23 seasons: mismanagement, owners selling off assets just after our last promotion, and other clubs having more money, is what got us relegated. Then what's kept us down is ABYSMAL mismanagement, especially the reign of David Platt from 99-2001 who spaffed all our money on shite and helped us develop an apathetic losing culture. We've never fully recovered, it was that bad. Also fans living in the past and being overly critical of any player or coach who isn't the next Clough or Collymore, has never helped. Seems like we've shed a lot of that baggage over the last 3-4 years tho finally, new generations who just want to see the club win and aren't complacent. There's not been a lot for them to get excited about really. In 23 seasons we've had a handful of great players who'd cut it in the prem. The likes of Wes Morgan, Andy Reid, Chris Bart-Williams, Jenas, Antonio, etc etc. But mostly we've had a lot of pure crap. It grinds you down as a fan. And it's kept us down.

The fact it took 3 seasons to escape, including losing to Yeovil in the playoff semi (angriest football crowd of all time), and just the standard of player we had to watch in those 3 years....I feel like a lot of us have sort of wiped it all from our memories as a kind of wellbeing mechanism

As a German, I'd love to pay a visit to Nottingham if I had the money for it. It must be a very special city with very nice inhabitants, so I've heard. And I love the fact that City Ground and Meadow Lane, both lovely stadiums with a lot of history for sure, are virtually just seperated by the River Trent. I guess this is only surpassed by Dundee in Scotland, where the home stadiums of Dundee FC and United are just about fifty metres away from each other. :D

Leicester fan here. This game just about sums up our whole season so far. So frustratingly inconsistent, and leaking goals for fun. The thing I would say is that we have had more long-term injuries than any other Premier League side in the last two seasons. The players that have been injured are all first teamers. We just need to finish this season, regroup and start again next season with a fully fit squad hopefully. Btw, Forest deserved it yesterday, no complaints.
