I'm so glad you made the choice to modify some of the lyrics to make it more culturally relatable, as most people born in the 80s and later hardly know what the watts riots were, but not only repackaged its accessibility but maintained the blues soul. This is a absolutely fantastic reinvention of a great song by one of the greatest composers. This is why he is the modern day composer who will not die

Trouble Every Day - She Drew The Gun Well I’m about to get upset From watching my tv Checking out the news Until my eyeballs fail to see I mean to say that everyday Is just another rotten mess When it’s gonna change my friend Is anybody’s guess And I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll even go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day Wednesday watched the riots Seen the bizzies on the street Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff And chockin' in the heat Listened to reports About the whisky passin' 'round Seen the smoke and fire And the market burnin' down Watched while everybody in his street would take a turn To stomp n' smash n' bash n' crash N’ slash n' bust n' burn And I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Think I'll even go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay that trouble comin' every day Well, you can cool it, you can heat it Cause, baby, I don't need it Take your TV tube and eat it All that phoney stuff on sports You know I watched that rotten box Until my head began to hurt From checking out the way That they don't dig up the right dirt And they’re selling out the people And further they assert That they're totally transparent Not complicit and absurd With their pantomime neutrality Distorting every word And they're rising on the right Cos they're appealing to this side Of a man to blame the poorest Because he’s unsatisfied With what the neoliberal program Has left him for a life Cos the architects of policy Have sold them a soundbite No society, just family So its as long as I’m alright So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' I’m hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day And they're rebelling our extinction They’re making such a jam Stopping cars in London Just to stick it to the man Cos we’ve gotta go cold turkey Gotta give up all that gas Addicted to the fossil fuels But they ain’t gonna last And the scene is getting hotter Like the scientists foretell And them cats up in the boardroom Should be going straight to hell The corporate institutions The whole bloody cartel Except the holy Church of England Has still got them shares in Shell And they're cutting all the funding Cos they're stripping back the state Privatised policing, advertising hate And they’re selling us a ticket To something that don't exist And their cup that overflows Is just filled up with hypocrites So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Think I’ll even go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day

Frank Zappa exemplified great musicianship like no other. You’ve stripped this music of its guts & ruined the message. “Now who you jiving with this cosmic debris?” Zappa himself would never have endorsed this mediocrity.

Thank god this song didn't get any traction. You mutilated one of Zappa's great songs with hippy ecomystic anarchist bulls**t. Zappa held to free markets and Capitalism through his entire life, in almost every deed and idea. He didn't always recognize it or identify this fact but he lived it knowingly or otherwise. You took one of his best works, ripped it inside out, and forced it to act against what he lived his whole life. It's sad to see Zappa's music used by new enemies essentially as bad as the ones he satirized regularly. The Zappa family may have gave you a green light, which is sad, but I'm sincerely glad the view count here has given you a solid red light.

Being a capitalist and being against the corruption we see in politics/the oppression of archaic notions like religion, that are still embraced by society at large, are by no means mutually exclusive, it’s worth keeping that in mind. Heck, No one understood that more than Zappa did. He was a businessman and a capitalist, but he was a freak, a compassionate dude and an environmentalist just as much if not moreso. A true independent. I struggle to imagine him getting offended by anything in this clip.
