At our old shop when someone came in with a fried stator it was usually because they had tried to jump the bike off of a car. 12 volt car charging systems and batteries have a lot more amps than bike charging systems and batteries and the stator takes the abuse. Thanks for your great videos!!

ironhead Bendix = 5 throttle twists, 1 prime kick, iggy on, kick, go ride. At least that's how two of my ironheads with Bendix carbs are, have an 80 FX with Bendix, close to same but with only 3 throttle twists. no choke on either.

@edZILLA64 im behind on commenting to your videos, I don’t know everything about every code that’s thrown on twin cams, but The only code I ever got on mine was when I did the ape hangers every once in a while I get a code about a ground in the wiring. It’s probably something that’s inside touching every once in a while, so i just turn it off turn it back on again and it clears the code for a while, and just keep trucking!! 😂 i know i know I’m lame and lazy !! But I’ll share that with you cause you’re my boy big ed you’ll get everything straightened out with that twin cam -hopefully- and then she’ll give you no problems. Trust me. 👍🍺 SLICK

No Anthony is haven’t fixed it yet, I’m going to try to fix it this winter. And the reason being is, im having too much fun riding her, and i don’t wanna tare her down, attempt the fix, and if something were to go wrong, then i’d be without my shovelhead to ride during the riding season!!! I know it sounds like I’m scared to fix her but, believe me I’ve been welding for many years. I’m confident I could come up with some kind of fix. It’s just i really really am enjoying riding her right now lol 😂 😂😂😂 👍🍺 but when I do come up with a solution and I fixed her, I’m sure I’ll film it and put it on my channel!!! SLICK

Yup that’s all, I ran a few fuel lines straight from the right side tank to the carburetor, put in a tiny shut off valve in between!! 😂 I can only do about 70 to 75miles on a full tank with it though that’s the only downside but winter time will come soon enough!!! 👍🍺 SLICK

Ok, Troll Time 🧌 The plug pushed into the case is the regulator, just splice in a different plug. The stator is a big job, if it works why change it ? The headlight on that black thing shakes like a dog shitting a corn cob, you can easily adapt an S&S enrichment lever to an oval cover, support the carb from the center case stud to the manifold, replace those cheap hose clamps with original crimp type, Put a set screw in the shift lever, install an internal Throttle cable on the U & lose the mini-bike set up. Bendix & Tillotsons work fine, install one on the 67 ASAP ! You are on vacation get busy 😂

If i left it that way, it will only continue to burn up!!!! And secondly the headlight on my 79 sportster chopper doesn’t shake a bit, i’ll proof it to you in person!!! Its the camera filming in 4k 60 frames per second that picks up on the subtlist vibrations!!! So shut your mouth on things you don’t know about!! And third you dork, those hose clamps you see is temporary plumbing to run the right side tank, due to my left side tank pinhole, until i get a chance to fix the pinhole!! I've had a 98 Evo for 26 years (100,000 + miles) so I know a little. To us non-Hollywood people, the light looks shaky and that sure looks like a hose clamp on the FL's oil line ? Well i don’t care what you like Thomas, you don’t know me and i don’t know you. But if you’ve owned any vintage Harleys as i do you would know that when they’re at idle, they don’t have much oil pressure, or oil circulation!! So after i start them, i wrap the throttle a few times during warm up to insure the oil is circulating through out the motor!! I’m guessing if you do own a vintage motorcycle, your probably one of those ret@rds that lower their idle speed REAL REAL low to sound real cool with the extremely slow “potato, potato, potato” idle, which is no good for your motor due to lack of oil circulation!! But anyways I appreciate you watching and commenting because it truly helps me brother thank you - oh and PS blOw me!! 👍🍺 SLICK

Ise to live in Old Bridge, NJ...now i live up in the Catskills. Question: have a 1974 Ironhead...use to be a Stroker, but went back to stock. Still have an S&S super E older style and cannot get tvat f__cker tuned right! It runs rich! I just drilled our the .040 air bleed to a .051 in hope that helps! Also just dropped from a 68 main to a 66 and dropped the intermediate from a 28 down to a 26.5. Re-set carb for intake leaks. If it still runs like shit midrange, i am going to pour Ronson lighter flyid and do a Hendrix on it!

Cause on my ironheads the 1970 has a bendix on it, and my 1979 chopper has a mikuni on it, which runs like a top!!! i didn't think this modern fuel doesn't keep, do you get through enough that quicly to justify a fuel bowser ? if ter' gonna' de - ethyl it how about a programme of the know how. that slipping gear chane, i pinned mine with a high tensile pin, i can't recall if i managed to drill the shaft while still assembled in the motor ?. love the love these fellas have, no flexxin', no be little Ing, no pissin' contest, its just 'we love custom cycles and ones with attitude'.

Yeah man, I could definitely justify having one of those tanks. Gotta remember I do have nine motorcycles and when six of them are kickstart bikes, I prefer to have gas in them before I leave the house that way I don’t have to stop immediately to get gas so yeah, I’d run through that 40 gallons no problem!!! 👍🍺 SLICK

@michaeloneill5961 i’ll give you a little insider information, and I’ll put out the short in a couple days from now, but i was out riding her the other night and the front pipe the U bend which goes from the front cylinder to the squish pipe under the motor suddenly just fell off when I was riding her, I didn’t know that but I could tell the motor sounded funny!! 😂 so when I got to the nearest red light, I looked down and saw it just dangling there hanging on by the spring I installed to it from the pipe to the cylinder- so I hurried up, pulled over and stuffed it back in and got her home safe and right now at the moment as we speak, I’m fixing her😂😂😂😂
