Troubleshooting a Camcorder, it will not power up,

just found your channel. My HMX-90 camcorder won't turn on. The charging light turns on and it even turns green but it wont boot up. What could be the problem.

I brought a sony handycam on eBay it works when it plug in but dont power up when the battery is in it so they sent me a new battery and it says its charging but still dont power up so i wrote the saler he told me i could keep it and get a refund on can you tell me why it dont power up on the battery but works on the plug?

Hey Martin, I would check to see if the battery is charged first.... I suspect that the little tabs that touch the battery in the battery compartment are not or the connection to them in camera are bad.... Check the battery for charge, then make sure all the terminals are clean, in the camera and on the battery.... Taking a camera apart is not for the faint of heart, I would watch some videos on it before I attempted it.... Thanks for asking, I hope I was helpful.... Thanks also for watching and commenting!!!!

I saw TOSHIBA and they didn't flag you. I don't think that brand recognition is the problem. I think that the problem was the use of the HAK word. This video was more your style and I was pleased to see this type of video I expect from you. Thanks

Surprised you didn't trace out the circuit with your scope given your electrical skills. P.S. the dead battery is likely disconnected from the protection circuit board. Carefully charge the battery from a low capacity power bank until the circuit is reactivated. Also, don't reply to this messages since for a year now KZbin doesn't notify me on any platform or device.
