Nice video Ulises. You stole my thunder at the 14:57 mark about installing a oil separator with the new compressor. Tandems units are not cool. I know Trane likes them in their commercial equipment. I am not familiar with that brand. Addison, looks like a unique system. Definitely the oil was not dumped out of the accululator and it was not replaced. Maybe there is a issue with the accumulator? Caused flooding back and washed the oil out of the failed compressor somehow? I have also heard scrolls sound like that. The one I remember ran in a vacuum for a period of time. It was on a walkin freezer. It would not pump down. I found a failed low pressure control.

That compressor sounds like is going to pop open ..sounds and looks like a restriction could be the issue you can hear the compressor struggling, and over amping... .. came across a few 5 ton Lennox RTUs with a similar issue last summer what do you think ?great video ...Ulises.

Felipe Tafolla I wish it was just a restriction. Actually with a restriction in most cases you would have lower than normal amp draw. Pressure and temps where fine. Something caused the low oil level in the compressor.

In a residential system with no sight glass and multiple compressor replacements it's hard to tell how much oil is left in the system waiting to cause issues. I try and drain the old compressor and see how much oil I get out to guage what's in there but still leaves uncertainty

Joe Shearer yeah. I actually took a compressor out of a working unit. Only 4 ounces low which is pretty good. I wish more units had oil separators. Better yet oil less magnetic bearing compressors for residential and light commercial one day. I bet they are working on something.

Those condenser coils really bad. Chocked to the max. That could be part of the of the cause of the problems
