Troubleshooting an LED candle

Received an LED candle and candle holder for Christmas and was having trouble getting it to turn on. I decided to investigate!

May just be bad contacts in the switch. If that is the case, then the contacts for the hot side of the switch must not be making contact. Both the switch hot side and the try me contacts are connected to the same junction of the transistor (or other controller) which turns on the light. If the hot side switch contacts when turned on have continuity, then one wire from the switch to the controller or the other return wire to the negative side of the batteries is disconnected or one could have a cold solder joint preventing continuity. All of this expert technical advice is free but is based upon the old adage of "battery and ground" being the basis for lighting a lamp. Good luck.

I was thinking in case it shorted out somehow. 🤷‍♀️ Would or could it start a fire?

Did you take the plastic out between the battery and the metal? It keeps the batteries from draining during storage. Blessings!

I'm confused. It sucks to get home and the crap won't work. The bottom of mine looks different.
