The cable question still has my brain boggled lol. I’m genuinely confused on how the cable would be the problem if it’s a new cable and the old and new one don’t work on the same device. Personally I feel like it might be something other than the cable, but that’s also why I usually have like 3 of the same cable just to make sure

Thank you for your playlist, Gee. I want you to know I truly appreciate you giving out this help for free. I'm afraid I don't understand the answer to the second Check On Learning question. I don't work in IT currently, so I cannot claim to have the experience you do. But is it actually more likely that a new cable was defective than "Something else is wrong?" Is it because the cable in question hasn't been tested yet? If so, about how many times can you test with a cable before it's no longer a known good cable?

You would try a suspected bad cable on another system to see if it works. G's logic was off on this one.

I agree, I didn't understand this one. If your cable doesnt work, and then you get a new cable to try and it also doesnt work, doesnt that mean its not something to do with the cable and something to do with something else? Thats where i was at basically

Hi Tech Gee. Respectfully, I noticed that the step of “Implement Preventative Measures” was not included in the video. I got confused during the check on learning on the question: “Setting up a staff training to avoid malware and viruses” I was thinking “A. Establishing a plan of action”, as preventive measures was not included in a vid. Back tracking into the lecture, sure enough it wasn’t there. Again respectfully, just wanted to bring this to your attention. Thank you Tech Gee :))

Wdym the replacement cable is not known to be working? If you have one cable and replace it with the brand new one, it could very well be an issue besides the cable. What is the chance that two cables suddenly aren't working and the fact that the problem would be elsewhere and maybe your conclusion was incorrect.

Yeah, you would be wrong to assume the new cable isn't working. Put another new cable on and that still doesn't work you will never have a cable that works.

Are the Check learning questions you review at the end, similar to the questions, and deliverd the same on the exam?
@TechGee3 жыл бұрын
I do not work for CompTIA, so I have no clue as to what questions they will actually put on the test. But based on my experience, the type of questions I put at the end of these lessons will more than likely be similar on the actual certification exam.

How do we record the configuration of the hardware and software? On paper or is there a way on windows? Thanks.

According to the certification exam, every single time you solve a problem. In practical application, follow your company’s SOP, playbook & other rules and procedures.

Can I just make an appointment and take the exam without any prerequisites?
@TechGee4 жыл бұрын
IT Fundamentals exam doesn’t have any prerequisites. It’s the most basic & elementary CompTIA exam. So yes, you can buy a voucher from CompTIA & schedule your exam with Pearson Vue now if you want.

Tech Gee... why do you think ITF+ has 8 troubleshooting methods and A+ has 6 troubleshooting methods... strange that the more complicated exam and cert has a more, perhaps direct methodology.
@TechGee3 жыл бұрын
The troubleshooting steps are still the same. Step 2 on the ITF+ was merged into step 2 on A+ and step 6 on ITF+ was merged into step 4 on A+.
