If this troubleshooting video does not answer your questions, it may be best to google your specific model of machine and this issue for resolution. Sewing machines are incredibly unique and my videos are intended to give you the OBVIOUS reasons you might be having problems. It's impossible to diagnose or fix specific machines in a general troubleshooting video, finding your specific machine on KZbin is the next level to trying to fix the machine via the internet. Best of luck and I hope my video is helpful for you!
Is your machine making a funny knocking noise when you sew? The chances are likely that you don't need to take it in for repair, rather it's probably one of these main issues:
1. You don't have the face plate firmly screwed down
2. You need to change your needle!

I have to tell you THANK YOU so much. My Baby Lock machine was making a weird clunking mainly over thick seams. It just sounded rough. I changed the needle and it is SO quiet. You people are brilliant.

I've broken 2 needles in the last few weeks so I've definitely changed my needle. I guess I just need to have a professional look at it.. it makes this knocking noise then my top thread snaps. I'm so sad and frustrated because I really need to finish this garment!

Me too. It's a relatively new sewing machine too. I'm constantly re-threading my machine. Changed my needle - checked that it's the right needle for the job etc. Just having no luck.

+anang rahman - when was the last time you had your machine oiled and serviced? You can do a bit of troubleshooting on your own but if you haven't had it cleaned and oiled by a professional - you might want to. What kind of machine do you have?

You said two things but it could be at least three, the bobbing too, that needs adjusting or tightening. I’m no pro but I’m having that problem now and from watching other videos, that was suggested.

My machine is brand new, came with a new needle installed. Have just set it up with thread to try it out and this knocking sound is very loud. Pfaff Performance 5,2. Tried rewind the bobbin and threading it all over again.... do you have any suggestions or familiar with this type of machine? Thank you :)

I have a Brother SE600. I have had it a little over a week. I've changed the needle, cleaned around the bobbin case, and it didn't solve the problem. I took a flashlight and looked under the plate. It looks like fabric debris or is something supposed to be there? I am a new sewer. Any help would be appreciated.
