Diagnosis of a fouled #1 check valve was correct. After lifting the unit out found a piece of debris wedged in that valve. After removal of the debris the unit worked perfectly. This video is a keeper!

Make sure to follow his instruction and flush the water through the disassembled valve. There can be debris in there that you can't see that can be causing the leak.

I found my 375 to leaks air in early November when I tried to low out the irrigation system. It turns out it gets colder early this year and the residual water frozen to icicles in the diaphragm, rendered the diaphragm cannot close itself. After clearing the I e debris, the air leak stopped.

Thank you. This is what I’ve been needing to know. Usually I just check the vent diaphragm for debris. Pro Tip: Never ever buy the kind that doesn’t have replaceable components. I did during the supply shortage and now I’m out $400. Let me know if I’m wrong about that Zurn.

As I commented above, as an end user consumer it is next to impossible to find or get access to individual parts or a reasonably priced appropriate repair kit for the 375 back flow check value series (especially the 1" version) that has the one or two parts you might need. IMO, definitely not DIY consumer friendly.

How are the check valves numbered on the 375 XL? 4 and 2 are mentioned but I am still unclear. Mike

I believe they are numbered sequentially, starting with the isolated individual valve located closest to the water supply inlet, and then moving to the cluster of 3 check valves (the first of them, closest to the supply inlet would be check valve number 2). Hope this helps.

Have you seen the prices of the available repair kits!!!? And too, it is next to impossible to find a reasonably priced repair kit to replace the springs on a 375 1" unit. Additionally, as a consumer you cannot locate individual parts; this is definitely not consumer friendly, IMO.

I shut off thbe valve #2, the leakage is worse. The leakage is coming from the releaf valve diaphram itself not coming out the bottom opening. The leakage also comes out the small hole in the middle of the diaphram. If I use my finger to block it, the leakage is worse. If I have both valves shut off, the leakage remains but not as bad. I had both valves off for about 4 1/2 months and when I truned my valves on. this is what happening now. Lost water about 1 gallan for every 3 hours maybe. please help。 thanks. I have Zurn 975XL

When experiencing leaks from the relief valve's vent port or air relief hole (Small "weep hole") you may need to repair the relief valve of the Model 975XL. A leak from the air relief hole will cause a loss in pressure on the diaphragm side of the releif valve, which is used as the closing pressure. Fixing that issue, which may be occuring from the relief valve o-ring, or relief vlave cover, could resolve any leaks from those areas. Does the relief valve leaks if the water is coming in to the building is leaking.

The integral relief valves on Zurn Wilkins’ Backflow Prevention Assemblies protect against backflow occurrences by monitoring the pressure drop across the valve. Sudden pressure changes can cause some discharge. A small leak would not likely cause the valve to “leak” or discharge. A water meter is a good way to tell if there is a leak in the plumbing system.

Thank you for the customer support! I have one of these in my sprinkler system and it was venting a LOT of water when I turned on my system. I watched this Zurn 975 diagnostic video and repair instructions (kzbin.info/www/bejne/maW8oKGEfNSaf6c) videos - with those videos most do-it-yourselfers will be able to repair one of these. Believe it or not mine had a piece of debris in valve 1 that was causing it to vent just like the videos said.
