Trout Fishing Tennessee's Citico Creek

East Tennessee's Tellico River is one of the most heavily fished trout waters in The South, but it gets crowded. Citico Creek is often referred to as Tellico's little sister. Flowing a short drive away Citico is stocked with half the number of rainbows (25,000 pounds is nothing to complain about, however) from the Tellico River Hatchery, is planted for half the distance (6 miles of water are stocked) and gets way less pressure. In short, it's a great place to catch rainbow trout with Pautzke salmon eggs as you'll see in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors.

Citico is a bastardized version of Settico, a village that was at the end of the creek and which is Cherokee for clear water

Lol, I have fished citico creek and tellico river both since I was 3 years old with nothing but a number 6 baitholder hook and powerbait. Don't tell me I can't use a big hook when that is all we have ever used for the last 27 years.

Many anglers use a fly rod to drift eggs. Feel free to try it. It works well!

You should take a charter out of Sscketts harbor NY for salmon, steelhead, and browns. It is One of the "best" fisheries on the East coast.

J-Fish NY We've covered Lake Ontario pretty good. We've been out of Olcott, Sandy Creek and Oswego and fished the rivers from the Niagara, to the Salmon, Oswego, Black, etc.
