The wild flowers are taking over the meadows, the cotton woods are beginning to blow, the trout are hungry and the renovations at our old countryside a-frame home are well underway. I’m lucky enough to live on a salmon river. I have steps going down there and a deck built over. In summer it’s a tiny stream and in winter it’s a three metre deep raging torrent that I daren’t go near. In summer I move every stone to make dry stone walls along the banks, leaving the river bed with only tiny stones to walk on. Every winter the whole thing gets washed away and each spring I begin all over again. (Jacqueline, river bum 69 and 3/4 😊)

Work hard but play even harder. I forget sometimes how blessed it is to be a country kid. Pretty much have been one my nearly 60 years on earth. Up there reminds me of my home here in Kentucky. Always something to get done but so many nice diversions to keep life fun. I really enjoyed this one! Starting to look really good there.

That large circular saw....my Mom n Pops had one similar mounted onto the front of an old John Deere A tractor. For years that is what they used to saw up their wood for the winter. Yup.
