TROY DEENEY | AMAZING LAST-MINUTE GOAL V LEICESTER SENDS WATFORD TO WEMBLEY!

One of the great moments in Watford FC history.
Live on Sky Sports, with the game in injury-time and a place in the Championship Play-Off Final on the line, Anthony Knockeart went down inside the box and referee Michael Oliver gave Leicester City a penalty.
If he scored, Watford would miss out on a trip to Wembley, but former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia had other ideas. Not only did he save the first penalty, but he blocked the follow-up too. Marco Cassetti cleared to set Ikechi Anya down the wing. He found Fernando Forestieri, who's cross was headed across goal by Jonathan Hogg to Troy Deeney who smashed past Kasper Schmeichel to send Watford and manager Gianfranco Zola through to Wembley to face Crystal Palace.
Amazing scenes of celebration for the Hornets and their fans at Vicarage Road. Heartbreak for Leicester, who had future England internationals Danny Drinkwater (now Chelsea), Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane (on loan from Tottenham Hotspur) on the bench that day. The Foxes would add Riyad Mahrez (now Manchester City) the following season and win promotion to the Premier League & later sign N’Golo Kante (now Chelsea) before their fairy-tale journey to become Premier League champions under Claudio Ranieri was achieved in 2016.

I have just discovered this clip through it turning up in my Facebook feed. I’m in Australia so I’m more into Rugby league and AFL but I can’t stop watching this footage. It’s bloody remarkable. I found myself cheering and I don’t know any of the players or the teams from a block of cheese. The goalkeeper is a wizard and the skills from the players to get it downfield and then to score are just superb. To have been at this game must have been bloody EPIC. Watch lower leagues if you want real football again. for example you can watch 3.Bundesliga and support Dynamo Dresden who’s fighting against all the things you mentioned while still having packed stadiums in D3.
