Without a doubt, Troy are the best iron sights for my Wilson Combat AR Carbine. I now have the folding tritium dioptic rear and the folding tritium round front.
@jayxzahn49832 жыл бұрын
Learned something very important right at the beginning: the rear sight has a flip up smaller aperture for more precise aiming, which I wasn't aware at all before. Thanks!
@awesomeaxel12 жыл бұрын
Most modern rear irons, whether they're flip up or fixed, usually have the two aperture sizes. The smaller of the two isn't necessarily meant for more precise aim, but specifically to allow for better accuracy when shooting long range.

I see this is 6 months old, and I doubt Steve or the guys from Troy will see it, but I thought I would make a comment and a suggestion. Comment is a thank you for the efforts your team has put into providing us shooters with quality iron sights. As a Canadian Infantry Officer and competitive shooter I simply love the durability and repeatability (the most important factor) of these irons. You guys have done the heavy lifting on this, and its appreciated! Suggestion is that you look at a detachable and compact iron for the long range precision shooter. The M24 system came issued with precision irons, and I've noticed its a hellova thing to locate anything out there that can be placed on the larger caliber AR 10 type builds. Even an old school carry handle with good adjustment is impossible to find! Glass shooting is fun, but switching to irons and reaching out to 600 plus really challenges us distance guys. Id love to see a more robust, tactical version of such a unit as opposed to the more delicate palma style irons I have seen jury rigged to fit pic rails of AR 10 rifles. Nobody seems to offer this.

I’m supper happy with my FDE front and rear sights for my at-15. I need a black set of H&k flip sights for my new CA9. I’d be happy to tell anyone how great they are. Feels like everything that I used in the 24 years of Army service that was issued.

You are killing guys... The Dioptic is rear has some new fangled geometry to it and you didn't explain how the small aperture with the cut in it works???? Come on it should get its own video with ALOT of explanation. Please need to know ASAP. Thanks and God Bless!

Is there a difference in sight alignment between the BUIS and offset BUIS? I ask because the rear sight on the standard BUIS is mounted just forward of the charging handle, but the offset version is mounted on the rail forward of the optic as shown in this video. The rear sight window on the offset version when positioned down, if mounted on the upper receiver, just hits the ambidextrous (Geissele Airborne) charging handle on the right side. One slot forward makes the mount hit the shell ejector so it can't be mounted there. So with the difference in distance from rear sight to eye, is there anything different between the two styles of sights and is one preferred over the other? Thanks!

I bought two Stagarms AR-15s in 2012 just before they deluge of backorders. The rifles were model 3s (no sights). I then purchasef two sets of Troy night sights for the rifles, Considered high quality. I found that the rifles have a floating forearm (won't hold zero), and the front sights I bought should have been gas block mounted. The mistake was mine. However, when I called Troy to see if they would deal with me on the gas block sights, I was basically told to piss off. In my 40 years in business, I have learned that any company reflects the attitudes and policies of the owner or CEO. I won't watch your video and will never buy another of your products. @Chaossidy-1172 жыл бұрын
I recently bought a pair of the 45 degree flip diamonds for my x95 with a manitcore tall top rail. Apparently that rail is about 1-3mm skinnier than standard picatinny rails so they wobble and won't get tight enough. Is there anything I can do to fix this or did I just get sights for a rifle I haven't bought yet haha.
@cxerphax110 ай бұрын
Did you find a solution?
@Chaossidy-11710 ай бұрын
@@cxerphax1 yup, I took them off and used them on my AR-15 for a while, then switched them out for regular troy flip ups once I got a razor hd3 with a RMR on a 45° badger mount. I honestly wouldn't recommend them. They are awesome in theory, but once you use them a decent amount they wear and the rear one would flick open easily. Probably because it came into contact with my plate carrier a lot more than the forward one which caused it to open when I didn't intend it to. Like I train but not nearly as much as I would like or should and they still wore down quick. The regular troy flip ups though... Absolutely recommend.
@Chaossidy-11710 ай бұрын
@@cxerphax1 but if your dead set on them (hope you aren't) it might of just been my set as they are the only ones I've had my hands on but I doubt it, you could put some 100mph tape under them and just pay attention to if/when they start wobbling again. As for my x95 I changed my manticore cantilever setup to the Optimus and haven't looked back. I run a Huey with a x3 eotech magnifier on the unity riser/flip to center with QD mounts. No extra irons, if I need the irons I drop the QD magnifier and use the OEM irons as that's the top rail you use with the Optimus unless you go for the raised one that does not have built in irons. The x95 irons are actually fucking awesome, even though they look weird haha. Hope that rant helps. I've learned a lot over the last year or so haha

@@Chaossidy-117 I run prism optics so a set of offset buis is a must for me. Too bad the troys did not work they are my favorite
@Chaossidy-11710 ай бұрын
@@cxerphax1 they are absolutely not a must. QD is an amazing thing. And if you're that worried about a backup QC aiming option if you have any decent prism sight there are options to mount a mini red rot on it somewhere. If there isn't then you probably don't have a decent prism
