I used to live about 25 miles from Newcastle. In my youth I once caught the bus there to see the big city and when I got there I found myself following two lasses who had come out of Greggs. I followed them along a long street, listening to them. I was quite certain that they were speaking English, but could still not distinguish actual, understandable, words. Happy daze.
