👍Thanks for providing a fine review. I appreciate you mentioning the NTA 8776 standard and Virginia Tech rating. For those who don't know, VT helps pro and college football as well as the NHL design, test and produce safer helmets. If I may add, please consider the Specialized Tactic 4. It also has the NTA 8776 approval and VT rated the Tactic 4 with 5stars and the second highest overall score for all helmets that they tested. Depending on the color the Tactic 4 sells somewhere between $80-$120.

The A3 does not have the same e-bike certification so if you were looking for a helmet specifically for e-bike riding, the Flowline is a better choice. If they come out with an A4, maybe they will get that same certification for it but for now the Flowline is the one to get for e-bikes. Thanks for watching and for the comment!! 🤙🏼

@@Alischnali - Well the certification is what makes this helmet safe for e-bikes. The A3 is an older helmet when e-bikes were not as popular as they are now. In my opinion, if you are riding an e-bike, this is the better helmet to get over the A3. It has better padding for the faster speeds an e-bike can reach in case you fall and hit your head. In the end though, it's still your choice. Good luck!

The Flowline isn’t any lighter. I would get it only if you need the better e-bike protection. If not, stick with the A3. Thanks for watching!!

Hi I just bought the same helmet in black and red. But i noticed the mips system to be quite rigid compared to my previous helmet. Is this the same for you?

I hadn’t really noticed that myself. What other helmet are you comparing this to? I have the TLD A3 and the Fox with MIPS and I can’t say I noticed any difference but in all honesty I wasn’t really paying attention. Next ride I do I will try to put them all on and see. What discipline are these helmets for? I ride XC, my current helmet is a Endura Humvee but like the looks of these but everywhere I see it’s saying about an e bike helmet?

It should work for xc, I don't see any reason why it won't work.

You can use this helmet for any sort of biking activity, but it's been rated and tested for e-bikes so you have that added bit of safety if you are using it for regular bike rides. Thanks for the comment and for watching!🤙🏼

I like the Flowline honestly. I have the A3 and while itʻs lighter than the Flowline, the Flowline has that e-bike certification and I feel it offers slightly better protection. But thatʻs just my opinion. Both are excellent helmets and I think youʻd be happy with either one! Thanks for watching!

No, if you watch the review, youʻll see that this one has a thicker padding to it compared to something that is not e-bike rated like the A3. Itʻs noticeably thicker in the front by your forehead. Itʻs also been tested to meet the standards for the faster speeds of e-bikes. The people running the tests are legit and do all of the safety tests for helmet manufacturers world wide. Maybe to you looking at it, itʻs just a helmet, but it does have improvements that can help protect you better if youʻre on a faster e-bike. In the end though, wearing a helmet is a must so as long as we can get more people to wear helmets I think we can lessen the chance of fatal crashes in the future. Most helmets without the 8776 approval are designed to provide protection up to 15 mph. If you don't go down steep hills at faster than 15 mph, you're good. Other wise when it's time to buy your next helmet, consider helmets that provide better safety at higher speeds.

The top front of this helmet is too thick making it look unflattering. The old A1-A3 looks better.

I will agree with you on that for sure. The top is thicker but my guess is because it’s rated as an e-bike helmet as well and the higher speeds those can get up to. Not the greatest looking helmet but I’ll always grab it for that extra protection. Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
