Bill Ward only uses one base drum here. His other foot is running the hi-hat, constantly holding the rytm all way through. He has flipped his drumsticks, using the thick ends for extra power when bashing those poor drums. My favorite drummer. Few can play so smooth and nuanced and right out brutal at the same time as Bill.

Saw them in 71 or 72 (I forgot the year) while in college and they were awesome! They are one third of the "unholy trinity" along with Led Zep and Deep Purple. The golden age of rock.

This clip remind me about production, back in the day it was the band, right side stack center drummer left side stack , rest of the band front stage and a couple of stadium lights hitting the stage , the stones might of entertain a huge blow up doll or something silly, but mainly it was the band, not even Floyd had big production, I know they had the pig floating around for a while after animals , but compared to today.
