New Windshield Wiper Switch from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ic/1AZC...
Combination switches have several functions, usually on a stalk. Things like headlights, wipers, high beams, turn signals, and even cruise control may be activated and adjusted with these switches. Some may be prone to failure, others get used a lot. If your combination switch is not working properly, you can replace it. This video shows you how to install a new combination switch on your 1988-2002 GMC K1500.

Can't believe all this for a steering column switch. Incredible. Thanks GM

Informative video. Now, if the engineers had been thinking, they would have had the unit unplug at the switch instead of way underneath the dash. It would have saved me at least an hour or two.

I just finished changing the switch. The video was a big help. There are so many different ways that connectors come apart. I don't do this kind of work every day. Those tips and many others about where fasteners were and sizes were a big help also. Also how to take dash panels off without breaking. Very well done and very helpful. Thank you for your effort.

Thanks for this instruction, followed most of it to get this replaced. Couple diviation with my steps. Note: use a 4mm socket to remove the two reverse hex screws, no special tools needed. You do not need to remove the steering wheel. Just detach the top and bottom steering wheel cover top does not need to completely come out. Also using a T20 remove the two screws located at back of the steering wheel where the video say to remove the airbags, this allows the back cover to come out. Using a 1/4 T25 socket on a swivel head the top screw for the switch can be access using the hole where the emergency flasher comes out of. Turn the top of the steering wheel to the driver side, you will be able to gain access to the front screw in a similar fasion as the above but through the opening of the steering wheel back cover.

This is 10x the work required. Trust me, Ive done this job twice, you DO NOT need to pull the steering wheel/airbag . That Torx that's tough to get at the back of the steering wheel just use a GO-THRU SOCKET 1/4" ratcheting soocket wrench with a short T25 bit. . I guess its time to start making my own videos...

Hi there, do you have to remove the steering. I noticed in your 1999-2007 , you didn't have to remove the steering. They kinda look same

At 3:05 you were supposed to hold that plastic from spinning ,you broke it [me too,no biggie] . If you don't have the E5 torx ,you can use a 4mm socket

You can use a 1/4" wrench and stick the bit inside it and slowly loosen the switch one quarter turn at a time. This way you don't have to remove the steering wheel

Good video. Thank you. I replaced the combo switch but when I put it all back together, my horn is now stuck on. No idea what I did wrong as everything went really smooth. I had replaced switch because 4 ways were not working and they still don't work. Everything else functions normally. turn signals etc. For the moment I have pulled the "horn stick" out so I can still use the truck and it doesn't contact the air bag. No idea what I did wrong or how I could have fouled up the horn. After several disassemblies and reassemblies I don't know how or why the horn is stuck on and how it really functions on/off stages. Maybe someone could explain to me!

Does anyone know how to pull the combination switch out after unscrewing both t25 screws? I pull very hard on the connector and it moves slightly but it doesn’t come out?

A forewarning, the part he said to press bolts into to drive the steering wheel off was riveted and tack welded to the wheel. I bent the part and ruined the wheel. His is free from the wheel for whatever reason. If the wheel won’t come off, don’t make it.

SOMEONE HELP! OK I’ve been chasing around this issue with my flashing hazard lights. When I press the brake pedal with the emergency lights; the flashers stop blinking & stay solid with my brake lights. After I let off the pedal, they continue to flash. I’ve replaced my flasher switch as shown in the video. I’ve changed relays, clean the fuses and grounds and also replaced my brake 6-pin switch but I can’t come up with anything.
