This video shows you how to replace the lock actuator so that you don’t need to purchase an entire latch assembly in your Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1999-2006. Power door lock systems typically use some sort of actuated motor to drive the lock mechanism. If the actuator breaks, then the door lock will no longer operate electronically.
This repair was done on a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS 4.8L Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door 4WD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

My 1999 silverado door has a 7mm head screw underneath the door. It must be removed before door panel can come off. Not sure if yours did during filming. Just a tip for others

if the door doesn't register as closed when the truck turned off and shut after exiting. would that indicate the sensor inside is nfg ?
