The rust makes the job a job, I always work on European cars, overt 100 , not even my 1969 jaguar xke 2+2 was as rusted as my Silverado, that jag was the only car I ever ad that had rust it was left out side for 30 years in Maine by the Canadian border when I picked it up, it was still solid, when I think of how a simple job turns into a nightmare with a Silverado due to rust, its something. You guys try to make these jobs with all the rust look simple and they're the furthest thing from it. The bolts in Chevy's get so rusted that you can't get them out as the metal seems to melt and naturally solder to or weld to the base , aside from that great cars , simple and strong, very durable and overall reliable, far more than European cars. It's just the rust, it will extend a simple job into a massive project in the blink of an eye. It's always best to look over every last part around the broken part because you'll probably have to replace those parts too, especially around the knuckle.

Can a rusty bracket pinch the flex hose such that it feels like the brakes are always on? I can be driving down the road and about ten miles on the highway it feels like the caliper doesn't release. 2015 Silverado 1500 in upstate NY 108k miles.

Is it okay to just bleed that one caliper? Or do you have to bleed all 4 corners?

Question for you…does it matter if the bleeder valve is on the top or the bottom of the brake line?
