This video shows you how to install a water pump in your 2011-2019 Ford Fiesta. The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Every other vid shows cambelt timing shenanigans for this engine. I was hoping it would be possible to clamp the cambelt in some way in order to squeeze the water pump through from behind the belt. Many thanks for showing me it is possible!

Thank you for these detailed instructions. I followed them straight through and it worked out perfectly for me. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to get that pin inserted in the timing belt tensioner pulley. I know to use a breaker bar to release the tension on my full-size truck's serpentine tensioner, so I searched around for several other youtube videos to find out how to release the tension. It didn't occur to me that I could pinch the two tabs together with my bare hands! When I figured out that part, the rest was a breeze. Thanks again.

Am i missing something? Why does the pump not just come out independent of the timing belt? Does it not just run on the pulley belt?

The procedure should be the same/similar for a 2013 Ford Fusion with the same 1.6 engine, correct? My main concern is the timing belt, since I dont have locking tools for the cams

Could anyone give me an opinion on my car i had it towed to a ford place, and they are saying the water pump broke but to fix it they have to first do a compression test on the engine because he says the pump may have damaged the engine and want 700 dollars just to do that test first is this a known issue with the car?
