Just as an FYI, I ended up looking this video up because at work we had an issue where we couldn’t find the right control arm. For some reason, the Acura I was working on had a different stud on the ball joint. The stud here has a slight incline to it, where the one we had was a straight up and down shape. No one knew what to do, so I took the old control arm and torched the stud, then took an air hammer and shot part of the stud off. Turns out that there’s a sleeve that the stud goes into, and that sleeve is very important. I don’t know if anyone else will have this issue, but if it saves anyone from trouble… then I’m glad I said something.

Sorry, just to confirm…when you say torque the control arm bolts under load, was the car on the ground?
