I very much agree with her that Gambian attitude are partly to blame. .. Just because someone or the constitution claims treason does not mean it is... A 'Democratically elected' government merit tolerance, but one that is not 'Democratically functioning' beyond the tolerable should be brought down conscientiously. Like a nation may declare independence from a colonial constitution, a nation may also declare independence from ' internal colonization' or abuse that is evidently against the constitution and reasonable conscience. We would prefer court rectification, but elected officials who repeatedly abuse the constitution have no right to demand the army or anyone to fully respect the constitution. Yes, we must avoid arm uprising beyond coup, it was/is sometimes essential. Not every coup d'etat is a 'treason', sometimes it is questionable rescue that elected guilty politicians are fully or partly to blame. What is a 'Democratically elected' government or 'civilized society' that was as negligent as the Jawara administration, with how many constitutional breaches, or a brutal government like the Jammeh administration with similar breaches? Again, we prefer constitutional rectification. Some 'victims' sadly become culprits, so let us gauge were they net victims or culprits? Too many Gambians die through the negligent government of jawara, or never again support a court that charges others 'negligent' killings or xyz; similarly against the Jammeh administration. May God forgive some uprisings.
