I think Essa is not doing a good job. He is forcing witnesses to say what he wants. He is not a Prosecutor in this case. This is reconciliation. As a lawyer he should know that tense can mean intimidating.

I agree with you. Essa has been doing a very good job but with this witness, he was a bit intimidating. It seems as if the witness being a lawyer, like him, created some rivalry. Just my take.
