I have previously mentioned that I'm a Michigan Farm Boy who grew up surrounding the Allegan County venues presented here. Lots of memories cruising the back roads shown, and navigating the crossings in my vehicles. The crossing just South of Fennville used to be a non-guarded grade crossing. It presented a real challenge if one was late and couldn't be burdened to wait for those long trains to pass, thus necessitating a speedy crossing ahead of the locomotive! Lots of pucker factor required in judging whether one could make it "safely" without a collision. Yes, I've done that! There were at least a couple of drivers who DID collide with the train back in the day. I navigated that crossing again while visiting the old homestead last August 2020, and it had been changed; still no guard, but better marked, with flashing light. It should've long been an underpass for vehicular traffic, like the one North of Fennville at 133rd Ave. Thanks much for your videos!

I really do hope that CSX is committed to staying in Michigan long term, I heard there are talks that the state might purchase the Detroit Grand Rapids line if the company decides to leave which would be great for passenger rail but bad for CSX (I own some shares of the company)

SO this train leaves Barr yard around 7-8 a.m. now right? but the clips seem to obviously be in the evening? is there any way to know when this actually leaves barr? I want to film this outside of chicago as it leaves? such a confusing train to follow

Correct 6-8a CT is the typical departure from Barr these days. Any number of things can delay them, including late arrival of Q327 the previous day as that crew turns as Q326.

One engine is able to pull all that?

Good as usual. Suggest catching CSX at junction with West Michigan RR. Switch junction variety of different cars
