OMG OMG OMG! On multiple occasions, my granny used to recall this story of a man who picked an apple from a river @24:42.....When Sheik tells about his own daughter to Yunus Emre he was referring to some incident that Yunus recollects and the latter says @28:50 that Sheik didn't have another daughter. I love it ....it is indeed a true story of somebody of high reverence from Turkey! OMG!!!! My granny was 85 years when she last breathed and that was some 15 years ago. It's a complete nostalgia....Love from India😍

​@@hafsasami5309 Okay...here's how my granny narrated the story...The importance was on the lesson on Islamic teachings: " No one is allowed to eat food without the owner’s permission". Now the story: A traveller was crossing a river, he was very exhausted and hungry. He sees an apple floating with the waters. As he was very hungry without thinking much he picks and bites it off. Suddenly he realizes that the apple doesn't belong to him...and says Astagfirulla. He starts wondering where the apple could be coming from. The man notices some people across the bank of the river, he approaches them and enquires about the origin of the apple and its owner. He proceeds to the owner’s house with the bitten apple still in his hand. The man greets and says, "Sheik Saheb, I’ve eaten the apple that belonged to you without your permission. I seek your apology. Is there any way I can repay your debt on me." The Sheik smiles and says, " have an orchard to tend, first you have to restore it." The man does the gardening and works as a farm labourer and some years go by. The man thinks now it’s time, he must go and ask the Shiek if the debt is recovered with his service, but the Shiek smiles and says, “Not yet”. The Sheik allots the man to cut wood for his house…and some more years go by. Finally, the man goes to the Shiek and patiently waits for a positive response. This time Shiek fiercely looks into the man’s eyes and says that the man must marry his daughter. The man bows down and agrees. But the Shiek says, “My daughter is blind”. The man says, “I agree”. Again the Shiek says, “My daughter is mute”. The man says, “I agree” . Again the Shiek says, “My daughter is deaf”. The man says, “I agree” . Again the Shiek says, “My daughter is crippled, she doesn’t have both arms and legs”. The man says, “I agree”. The Only thing the man fears was the Fire of Hell he will have to face when he dies. He was only fearing the Day of Judgement when he would be raised and what if he would not be able to face Allah with a face of a thief. The Nikah is solemnized. On the wedding night, the man hesitatingly moves towards the crippled bride and lifts the veil. He is surprised to find a beautiful woman with absolutely no imparities. She then says it was a test her father, the Shiek has put him all through to find a god-fearing husband for her. The man goes to the Shiek immediately and thanks him profusely. But he was also inquisitive about other things on his mind. He says, ”My Shiek, I understand your test on making me work on your farm and chopping wood for you but why did you tell that your daughter is blind, deaf, mute and crippled” The Shiek says, “ My daughter is exactly what I said. She is blind to Haraam things in the world. She is deaf as she doesn’t hear any Gossips. She is mute as she never says anything Fitna. She is crippled as she never does or goes anywhere other than Sirat-ul-Mustaqeem. The man takes a leave from the presence of the Sheik and goes on to start a happy life with his pious wife. That was the reward of being honest and being fearful of Aqirah. This story was narrated in a manner to instill moral values in us children. My granny said she had heard it from the elders of her family. Hope you liked it.

@@Periwinkle110 so many paths one can follow, as we seek for that which resonates closest to our being.. I was raised in a christian society but i like the sufi perspective. I find many ideas in sufism common in taoism and buddhism such as the unity of God (there is nothing but God) and the relativity of things. We live in a world plagued by polarisation and partisanship promoted by the powers that be.. I found the series refreshing in its message of unity of being and the common good. Pity the english subtitles were not that good at times.. Cheers
