He can see the buckets of blood to pick up, where his teammates are and if there are survivors nearby he can listen to his dialogues! I might be wrong tho, but I think that is what it does

Family vision. You see grandpa, the other two killers, blood bags, survivor escapes, etc.

True, you completely butchered the button mashing event during close encounter with Leland in the first match! - You are supposed to mash as fast as humanly possible, it ain't rhythm based.
