Man, imagine if BHVR weren't afraid of the loud minority and actually want to try new things just to try them. Imagine trapper with base kit Iri Stone. They should just try it out for one week and see what happens.

I personally don't think he's weak, but he isn't an extremely strong killer either, IMHO. Like, I'd place him at high B-tier, below Myers but above Knight. His strength is heavily reliant on survivors' misplays. He also doesn't have the best map-pressure, doesn't have stealth, doesn't have the best anti-loop, and is effectively a fully M1 killer if the area he's in isn't heavily trapped. Not to mention he's fairly map-dependent; Maps that don't have much grass or many areas where he can hide his traps well can hinder him greatly. He becomes a monster if he gets a down near a basement, but besides that, he's not overwhelmingly powerful to me.

I like Trapper. The reason people say Trapper isn't good is due to all of the maps with no grass which makes it harder to hide traps.

Trapper has to spend most the game on setup that can easily be counterplayed, he is also a Regular mouse 1 killer. Trapper relies more on survivors making mistakes, not himself being the playmaker. He has no stealth so everyone can easily know where he places traps, and when he’s out he has to and physically pick up more, and the traps arent exactly as hidden or hard to find as they used to be back in the day with darker/taller grass. Sure, he gets stronger with addons, but what killer doesnt do so? In that case you can argue that there are no bottom tier killers considering pretty mich everyone has addons that make them way stronger. Youre a good player true, but you cant convince anyone that trapper is a strong killer compared to the other 30 something killers we have.

Exactly. Any killer looks much stronger if they get their best map and use the best addons.

Trapper is a good killer if you play basement and just play around it, especially with shack. Anything else he’s trash. He’s a killer that literally relies on how good survivors are

I think Trapper is F to very low C-tier in my opinion. He's an m1 killer with eons worth of set up and little to no gen or map pressure. Sure, trapper can be decent with his best add-ons and good perks to help with slowdown but that's pretty much all he has going for him, and a Killer just isn't good if they need to run their best add-ons and strong perks to make them, at least, decently viable. Without running the best thinga on him, it feels like trapper has to hope survivors continuously make fatal mistakes that lead to getting someone out the game quickly, which leads to trapper just falling flat when survivors make little to no mistakes. I won't say trapper is the worst killer in the game but, if I'm being honest, I'd barely call him mid.

Idk about the person talking about them being a potential killer player and liking map offerings but still, some killers actually do prefer maps to allow them to do there stuff in like basically any stealth killer and lery's lets say. it would suck for them to lose the ability to play map offerings if they ever remove it for both sides but at the end of the day its kind of similar to how survivors play theres. you are specifically going to map to try to get you a free win and thats not ideally healthy for the game overall

Only because some people dont count addons. But his good addons hes on of the best killers if you synergize it with perks

It FEELS single time I try to play trapper I get eerie of crows and a team of people who hold Forward on everything and predrop pallets and follow me around and disarm everything snd makes me just not wanna touch him again. He also used to be my main so I think my MMR is just too high on him for me to enjoy anymore. Matchmaking is supposed to pair you up with an even match but it feels like I get un-winnable matches consistently with him anymore

@@fattlebieldproductions3198 I feel his counterplay is so simple. When I get a win on trapper it doesnt feel like I earnes it, but I feel lucky that the survivors made tons of mistakes. Unfortunatly dbds poster boy killer is among the worst

A good trapper player will struggle to 3K a mid survivor team. That's the hallmark of a low tier killer

⁠​⁠@@fattlebieldproductions3198always being able to injure doesnt make much sense though because then youre injured either way, if you step on it or disarm it. Good survivors identify traps and are able to just go around them, so making that basekit doesnt make sense. I agree on making them take longer to disarm

He's not Freddy bad, but Trapper is map dependent and has so much setup time that Trappers end up going for basement or the three gen defense. The Iri add-ons help *a lot*, but you can't depend on always having those.

yep. it is so effortless that even soloq player can do it. you devote 1 person to disable his traps and he has no ability. that is why he is f-tier. iri stone is only add-on to fix this problem because it reset traps automatically but without iri stone, trapper's entire ability worthless. He is F-tier without iri stone and like C-tier with iri stone because on technical level, even if you don't disable his traps, you can simply not loop where trapper has put his tr effectively avoiding his traps. this leads 3 gens forming for trapper because nobody want to go into trapped zone but 3 gen are super easy to break because of 8 kick limit so trapper still sucks even when he is in the advantage in 3 gens because he loses automatically to pre-running and 3 gen kicking.

Trapper is f tier, this video just shows how killer oriented the current meta is. Even f tier killers are strong compared to what survs have currently.
