An amazing depth of perception. I wish he had a video of the whole three-day course. I'd pay the same price as for the in-person class.

Very late comment but does anyone know what they say about the two structure steps that thriller emphasises at the end of the video?

I have a question that I just came up with due to a movie trailer I have recently seen. There is an Agatha Christie movie coming up. that reminded me. How do Agatha Cristie movies fit into this? If I recall, her books always have a protagonist that is pretty much perfect, almost such as Sherlock Holmes. Those protagonists don't have these moral issues to overcome. How did they get so much delight from the readers without that element? Am I in the wrong genre with this or is it something else?If I am not mistaken, these moral things were present, just as in Scooby Doo cartoons, but the criminal was the one who had it. The detectives would find out as they investigated. Yet, they were perfect protagonists. They suffered no change. They did however end up revealing the moral flaws of the criminal. Jeez, I was thinking in words here. So, does that sort of explain how the moral issue is addressed? Is that it?

you are close to the answer...there is a great video by the channel "Just Write" on how to write characters without character arcs...it is something like the conflict and dilemma is shown through the characters apart from the protagonist...its not just the protagonist that makes it interesting, the supporting characters play a crucial role in making the Agatha Christie stories work

K.M Weiland calls this the 'flat arc', I think, John Truby calls it the 'traveling angel'. Whilst the protagonist is the driving force for the narrative, all the other characters are affected by the protagonist and go through change because of him/her.
