Hey Nathan. It's been a while since I've checked out your channel. The past year I've been very ill and had 3 major abdominal surgeries and the recovery for each one was incredibly challenging and painful. I'm finally in the healing phase of my last surgery and little by little getting back to normal life. Although it's been a very challenging time for me in many ways, it's now behind me and I can look forward to getting stronger everyday and getting my life back, but it has been a slow and steady process. Your upgrade is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous! I'm having a tough time sleeping tonight so I was recommended one of your old videos from a year ago at like 4 in the morning. I think I'm gonna binge watch your videos that I've missed until I fall asleep. I don't know if you remember, but we live in a converted bus on our own acre of land. Because of my unexpected illness our plans to build a house here was on hold. Now that I'm doing better we are going to start building our house in March. You are always welcome to park here. We live in Pahrump, NV about an hour outside of Vegas and we live in a pretty quiet and isolated area with a lot of great hiking. Enjoy your new set up. It looks amazing and cozy. Be safe out there!

Nathaniel, At the beginning of the pandemic I watched a few of your videos. I didn't remember you at first, I think I associate vloggers by their vehicles... strange I guess. Halfway through I remembered you and am glad I got to see the new set-up. I am a Toyota person too and totally understand the timeframe of "best" Toyotas. I think you are very humorous and have a Mello easy-going presentation. SO thanks for that. It takes a certain midframe to do what you are doing long-term. I think so many RV vloggers I developed addictions to during the last 3 years are not well adapted for this life. But, I "get it" with you. FOund a style that fits your needs and live without many complicated surroundings. It takes time to figure out exactly what works. SO starting with the minimum and slowly adding and subtracting is a great system. Eventually, we all settle and realize what is actually important to us. Just had my coffee, hence the long post... But nice job, I am proud of you, and similar to many others I am envious of your lifestyle. Much love from San Francisco and peace out.

Congrats this is a fantastic camper setup! Your video work is top notch. The skillful use of DOF and even the color tone and contrast is right on. That plant is called pothos, yes. They are hardy. You'll like it. In below freezing temps I guess that shower bag will not work well. You get that great long sofa, lightweight camper and great smaller truck as a tradeoff for no bathroom. Works for you! I see the BF1500 is still made but it looks like a different layout or yours was changed to remove the wall-fridge section. Your two burner stove is perfect. Bigfoot should make that standard on the 1500. Livin' the dream! Congrats and may God bring many more blessings to you.

Those smaller bigfoots are cool. Very similar to some of the older northern lites that were made for the import trucks. You'd probably like my bigfoot, it's an 8' version. Much like yours but just a bit bigger. 3 way dometic fridge built in, sink with pump, built in 4 burner stove and propane furnace all from the factory. No bathroom...and lots of counter space. Bigfoot used to make some awesome small campers! Cheers from Vancouver Island.
@NathanielWise2 жыл бұрын
i've seen those! very cool indeed. i love have the smaller footprint of the 6.11, really awesome for my needs. i did consider the northern lites too, but the ceiling height was only 5'10 so i couldn't stand straight up. they're so light, pretty crazy. like 300 pounds lighter than mine!

Thank you for sharing your truck camper, Bigfoot, Nathaniel. I am a full time van lifer in a two-wheel drive cargo van and love it. However, many destinations would have been more enjoyable having a 4X4 capable vehicle like yours. Great set up, too! I like how neat and organized you have it and the pothos is a nice touch. I have a macrame hanger with a pothos in the top and a vine-like plant in the bottom. Having 4X4 capability gets you away from the crowded campgrounds and multitudes who flock to the beaches, my favorite camping. I would welcome the solitude you enjoy. You made a great point in mentioning having a hobby to help utilize free time more productively...awesome idea. I love writing, amateur photography and posting my travels on Facebook.
@NathanielWise2 жыл бұрын
thanks for the comment :) plenty of spots that don’t require 4x4 out there for sure, but i do love the versatility of having it. and, i do want to get a macramé for this one, seems like a great way to hang a plant, so it doesn’t mess up the walls!

Very helpful to me seeing someone SUV tour vs their truck camper tour!! Helps me with my decision more of truck vs SUV. Thank you! I agree vans just can't go where SUV or truck can. My hesitation with this tall is can't go in parking garages but hmm maybe that's worth the sacrifice. Over 13' is when more limitations happen. Hard side pop-top seems maybe tough to find. In case you don't know, Pothos and snake plant are two of the most air-purifying houseplants and yep considered pretty hearty. I have both though took a learning curve about root rot + soil types.

Very nice new rig!! So glad to see more videos hitting your channel too. One bit of advice though. That catalytic heater will produce a ton of moisture. It will turn your camper into a wet sauna. Especially being in the PNW, you would do much better with a dry heat. If you want to stick with propane, something like a Propex system would be much better. If cost is an issue, a chinese diesel heater might be an idea. I would consider it before the weather turns! I lived in the PNW for 34 years and I have personal experience with all these systems. You will be miserable with that cat heater!
@NathanielWise2 жыл бұрын

I stumbled upon your channel by chance while watching some vanlife videos. I binged watched a few of them and was taken in by your beautiful shots of the landscapes and mountains. So I'm now subscribed to your channel. Will be looking forward to your postings. Love 💖your storytelling and videography 👍

Agreed on the pickup camper Especially having 4wheel and getting away from most people and best camp spots

Your camper is really nice. The restoration by the previous owner is awesome, just like I would have done myself. I think I remember that these are built in Canada. Where did you locate this one? Jonathan Yentch went to Canada to get his. I think it is still original, but he plans to make alterations to it in time. Have a good day and take care.
