I've had the traditional non levered Happy Jack turnbuckle tie downs, for years, both on my old Travelite and now on my Lance 855S. They're great and have never let us down but they're slow to come on and off! I'm so excited to get these Qwik Loads for the speed and convenience!

I agree that the torklift units are insanely priced but a few years ago my brother bought a set of the all stainless steel version as he was tired of what was going on with the traditional chain/turn buckle method that was first put on where he bought the camper as they could become slack. Part of the torklift magic at least for him is the fact that it has that internal spring and allows for some stress motion and yet holds everything in place if there is slight shifting and does not loosen off the tension like a turn buckle system does or similar with a snap over system like you demonstrated that does not have the internal spring. Not that I am knocking that much lower cost alternative with the quick fastening system but unfortunately like you pointed out it does not have the internal spring nor the method out of the box to install locks. Due to sticky finger syndrome and the fact that if the tie downs were stolen and never noticed it, that would be catastrophic if driven down the road and the camper fell out of the truck so my brother installed those slide through locks with the weather proof caps at the key end. Sadly one seems to have to lock things up, even that is not fool proof but padlocking the receiver hitch pin and tow bar etc if towing a vehicle ensures that its not easy to mess with either.

Thanks for the comment. I don’t know if your brother had the same set or not but the Happijac Qwik Loads I have are spring loaded. I was just using them today. I do like the Fastguns better but for the point the Qwik Loads are pretty good. Thanks for watching!

Those locks are expensive, so I just used the cable locks that came with my guns.

We haul our lance 1130 on a 3500hd duramax flatbed, albeit with basic happijac turnbuckles and a 3/4 wrench, kind of the same as you if you need to adjust, haha. Out of curiousity, why do you have your attachment points pulling straight down? They could provide much better strength with less tension pulling at an angle.

Great video as always. Are the added quck-links something that are considered "healthier" for the connection point on the camper? It would seem that a less rigit anchor point like that would be healthier for the camper anchor points anyway?

Happy jacks are not as strong as the Torklift fastguns. I hit a sizeable dip in the road and two of the Happy Jacks broke into pieces, stranding me in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. Switched to the fastguns. I feel a lot better with the fastguns than I did with the Happy Jacks. Torklift products are worth the extra money.

We agree that the Fastguns are a better product however we never went in too many areas where there was a rough terrain to test the integrity of the metal. That and We had to use the Happijacs because the Fastguns were too big for our Flatbed. Thanks for watching and commenting.
