So, fun fact, for this God forsaken state of Massachusetts: Our new "gun reform" law, has now made muzzle loaders, a "modern rifle", and subject to our state's "super killy" state "assault weapon" laws. Yes, you heard it here folks. A muzzle loader-a single shot, relatively slow moving rifle, is now considered a "modern firearm" in massachusetts. And if you put on, say, a muzzle brake (i know, no such thing). and a bayonet lug (again, I know), it is now illegal, because its an "assault weapon". THIS is what happens when Democrats pass a 1300 page bill at 3 AM, without reading it. And, this is why we mostly ignore the gun laws in this state. Because even the "legal experts" dont know. And, NONE of it will stand up to Supreme Court rulings.

Shotgun is a good option for sure. We’re not in town but when we do go, the old lady and I both carry pistols. If it’s an over night stay, a folding stock AR is in the overnight bag. If it’s not an overnight stay, a lever gun is in the truck. The only reason is if it does get stolen, a lever action is slightly cheaper than an AR. You may have me rethinking that though. I have an 7.5 inch AR barreled 5.56mm. 77 grain PEZ for my dispenser. I love this suggestion. My Winchester 1200 maybe the better option.

Hard to back up when you're on a one way and have a line of traffic behind you. Sometimes you just have to go past and try to make it as peaceful as possible.

I think you need a longer barrel on the shotgun.

Well in California, the other rule your leaving out, is the ammunition has to be in a separate container. If it’s unloaded with ammo near by your gonna get in trouble

I'm not a lawyer, but I have taken gun courses in three different states, and unloaded can mean not chambered...just saying

Loaded even cruiser ready is not an option in my state. No loaded long arms. It’s an anti poaching stance. Box mags may be loaded, just not inserted into firearm. An AK/AR type shotgun could be brought to action pretty quick, or know how to tactical reload a pump. 😉

I have one of those crescent shaped tourist waist packs containing a coiled elastic belt full of 2-3/4" 12 gauges. Some tourist slogan compared to something like NRA would draw less attention and be less conspicuous too.

Thank god I live and work in a 2A Sanctuary state, where the Crowd Control-sized can of Police Magnum pepper spray in my door, M&P AIWB and the 6.75" 300BLK Suppressed Virtus within arms reach, give me the piece of mind to know I won't get the Reginald Denny treatment or persecuted for protecting myself and loved ones.

If they steal your truck with your tools, guns, computer, stuff. Then you’ve been to Oakland on a normal day. These people are ruthless animals and we look like their game. And the police are scared as all hell to do shit…

I think you are correct I believe on being able to carry the unload long gun in the seat. But just because you are legal and right don't mean you want be arrested. Had a buddy. That went to a funeral in a bigger city in fl. Not one of the real big ones and in North fl. Where the cop really should have known better. He got arrested for the shotgun in the seat. It was spring turkey season. He normal hunts a few hr before work. Any way he got arrested. By the time the lawyer got done. 38k out of the city. 8k for the improper arrest and 30k for missing the funeral.

I have a go bag in my work truck, I have everything I need to get home and since I work on an island that has only 3 ways off two vehicle bridges and one train bridge that lowers. In the winter boats are not an option. So I have what I need to navigate these issues. I am fortunate to be in the forest along the coast. We are not in a hi density area and we are away from crowded areas. I am getting home to my wife and daughter.

I am getting older, past 60 and getting where a 12 gauge is too much for my arthritic shoulder. So a 20 gauge is it for me. I also carry a 9 km pistol most 99 percent of time.

My truck is camouflaged with a "Coexist" bumper sticker and a "No NRA" sticker. So anyone observing it will think the chances are low that there's a firearm behind the seat. Bought the inexpensive Mossberg Maverick 88 as a truck gun. 25 rounds of one ounce slugs and 25 rounds of 00 buckshot. (I ALWAYS have my pistol on my belt)

Birdshot is silly. Even later in court the prosecutor is going to argue "he chose ammunition with 200 little pellets, each one potentially lethal. He was going for maximum damage". May as well load buckshot
@DavidLaMorte-z3j15 күн бұрын
00 Buck or #2 Buck. Accept nothing less. Loading a 30"shotgun in the driver's seat is problematic. Big yes to a Win. Mod 94 (30.30) but my personal fav for CQB in a tight space (other than my M1911) is a goodwill M1 Carbine. It's empty in the vehicle until you slap in a mag, cycle the bolt and waa laa. It's not an AK or black rifle. That said, simply down go down to the cities while a state of conflict is the drill. Most important, avoid all blue zones.
