I would set out my triangles on opposing traffic sides, then back up to try to get the tandems as far right as possible maybe even sliding the tandems all the way forward just to be able to make that turn (correcting the weight later). (Private contractor truckdrivers.) It was insane and a scandal, because the corporations was promised a cost + model, where the Gov' will compensate every service double - including lost of equipment and repairs. Imma say this as a truck driver whose been in the game for 3 years: You gotta trip plan. I took that for granted when i was training driving for Prime. My trainer kept telling me to trip plan by looking at the route on the trucker gps. He said to not rely on the gps and to never become a gps truck driver. Learn your route before you drive that truck. And yes every truck driver uses a gps; but we have to always look at the traffic patterns on the main interstates, state hwys, etc. but as for this driver, he has no business on a residential street like this. Ive been in similar situations and its def nerve wrecking because we have to use all of our brains and skills to get outta tight situations like this. Always slide ur tandems all the way up to the 5th hole or shorter for situations like this; or swing wide.

What truck drivers often don't get is that you can orient the cabin past 90 degrees to the trailer, and back up this will actually make the trailer go forward; then you can go back to a more normal position and go forward. It might have worked here, I don't know the exact layout of the road and characteristics of the truck and trailer though.

As someone who's been an o/o, driving a sleeper with a 53' trailer and now driving a 65 ton lowboy, with a day cab that measures out to 76' long this driver definitely could've made this turn if he started from the right lane. This was just due to being inexperienced. Driving in NYC isn't for everyone

The driver at :33 really pulled some NY shit wit that stunt

I’m getting out of my truck and locking it, finding the owner of the car illegally parked on the corner and ask him to move, or we can wait until the police come with a tow truck 😅

I don't know the urban parking rules in the USA. But in Halifax, NS, Canada the grey SUV would be getting a parking ticket. For being too close to the corner of the block.

I could watch more content like this. Always in the no parking.

Pretty good example as to why semis need to stick with the main roads instead of taking shortcuts through the neighborhood to avoid a few lights.

That’s a great idea except there are deliveries in places like this. Do you think the product is unloaded on the side of the highway so trucks don’t have to enter tight parts of a city ? Your opinion is obviously from someone who doesn’t know

Glad he took his time and didn't hit anything but at the very least, PUT YOUR 4 WAYS ON bro!

@@Gmuzac12 yeah welcome to New England, Pennsylvania and Jersey. Any street that doesn't have a route number is damn near a no go. And even some of those route you off of the road because of a low bridge ahead.

Poor planning by logistics company. If it's the only turn to get to the destination they should be pulling a way shorter trailer. Or just a new driver that dosent know the proper route

i come down that street all the time and not one problem other than everyone looking

Should have swung wider. But the cars going the wrong way on a one way street didn't help either. I pull a step deck and wow, I've been in some tight places and have learned to watch as I approach a corner.

I wonder if he swung wide enough to the right looks like a lot of space to do it
