Trucker convoy: Timeline of the protest weekend

The ‘Freedom Convoy’ that converged in Ottawa on the weekend started in response to the federal government’s move to require that all Canadian truck drivers crossing the U.S. border be fully vaccinated. The Canadian Trucking Alliance, the main advocacy body for truckers, has disavowed the protest, saying the vast majority of its members are fully vaccinated and are continuing to work. The core organizers of the protest insist that they are not anti-vaccine but instead oppose mandates that require vaccination for people to work.

The Ottawa Citizen should be ashamed about this extremely biased reporting. Tens of thousands partake in peaceful protests and come from across the country to have their say, and all you can do is focus 95% of your report on a handful of incidents. Come on get with it. All happily witnessing the convoy, laughing, joking. Food and water was getting handed out. Better than Canada Day in some instances haha. The media is now in my opinion a total waste of time to even take part in. I used to attempt to gain bits of info but now I will not even care. If they want to tell me my eyes deceive me then they can go talk to the brick wall the PM is apparently hiding behind. He dismisses the entire thing because he does not agree with it. True leader among men. Democracy is now only the opinion our leader agrees with.

I was there for the two days and felt only peace and calm and great cameraderie. it was all about Canada and Freedom. The overwritten negative comments have no basis - when you consider all those people over two days and only one arrest. There were saboteurs, Fifth Column, as always who want to destroy anything that is positive. The police were relaxed and casual and one felt they were with us. Too bad this video does not show the wonderful, inspiring slogans carried by young and old but mainly young people, all for Unity, Truth and Freedom for Canada, freedom of choice. The taking back of what has been destroyed over the last two years - our dignity as individuals, not clones of a maniacle government which mandates a one-size-fits-all serum on every single person.

@@FreemanicParacusia My job in VIrginia for one freedom lost. I had a major adverse reaction to flu vaccine for 6 months & my doctor says I shouldn’t take this shot. I had a Guillian-Barre variant, rare but does happen. All medical expenses were mine even though my employer demanded it. I worked in health care & there’s no job for me since I can’t take it, even with mask. We weren’t allowed to leave our county except to go to work. No PTO/vacation time was allowed either for for almost a year. This just a start of the freedoms denied to me.

The protest includes people of all backgrounds. There are Sikhs, French, First Nations, English, blacks, etc. There is no intolerance towards individuals, but likely some intolerance towards oppressive, hypocritical politicians.
