I recently use a 6x2 chassis on my MAN TGX pair with a 640hp hauling a 63 ton heavy load. I thought it was a suitable option. But it turns when I was leaving the garage. I was going at a speed of 55 km/h my truck started to lose stability and swirving by itself for multiple times. In the end, I quit the job. I change my truck configuration with a 8 x 4 chassis. Now its very stable. Do you have any idea why the truck itself was swirving with a 6x2 chassis pair along 640hp engine?

A 6X2 truck has powe on only 2 wheels, now the weight of the cargo goes to all 6 wheels but because it's only 2 wheels that's powered, it makes the weight to power distribution uneven. Think of it this way, a Rear wheel drive car trying to go up a steep muddy hill, it will swerve around because only the rear wheels have power making the weight of the car depending on it to push the car forward..... That's why it's suitable for a car to have 4WD on hills. And that's why your truck was swerving around. You need a 6x6 or a 8X4 for that cargo

Which gearbox are recommended for 8x4 and Max engine ? Or it depends of load ?

It really depends on the weight of the carho you are carrying, The geavier the cargo the more the gears, it helps to really maximize the trucks power.

I'd say the 6X6 especially if you are going to the Quarry,Lech, Tremola, or Tubigen, but if it's just highway, go with the 8X4

Why 6x6 in the quarry?

You see, a 6X6 truck has all wheels powered, that is all wheels can turn. , so if you are on an uneven surface where you find maybe only 2 or 4 wheels touch the ground, the wheels will have power to move the truck. This also makes it easier to use diff lock, as all wheels can engage diff lock.
