Hi mate Been watching from the start and glad to see you back! I’ve been looking in every Rickacabin wagon that I pass 😂 I’ve got a 23 plate Volvo FM with a Fassi 710, I had Volvo turn off that irritating idle cut out on mine, used to drive me nuts! Next time she has a 6 weekly get it done! 😉

It depends on how the microwave is wired in.

@neilarmitage6632 ? Guess you mean through a inverter or a 24v hard wired?

I'm enjoying a lot of your videos, I'm looking to do Class 2 Hiab driving soon, and ironically, you've jumped onto Class 1, but there's still a load of videos to catch up on! :) Have you discussed pay rates and hours you've done on previous vlogs? I'm just curious how my offer is, it's to pass my class 2, then Hiab training, slinger and something else and would be 50k based on 10 hour days, Monday to Friday?

Glad your enjoying the videos. Where money is concerned I think it's very much a personal thing. Kinda what ever your happy with. For me job satisfaction is worth more than the money. I was on around 43k a year on the hiab for 50 hour week plus overtime of course, it also depends on if its cabin work, site work, building material or whatever. Cabin/container work isn't difficult in the slightest, it's just the places you have to get the lorry to which can be challenging. I do miss the hiab work but loving being back in a artic on general haulage for now
@mrsweete90655 ай бұрын
@@TruckerWillHiabappreciate the honest reply mate, I also agree that job satisfaction is arguably more important than pay in some cases. I mean, realistically, at 50-hour weeks, most of your time is spent at work. With respect to what materials will be transported, it honestly will be anything, at least for the start. He has a few ideas of contacts to start with, but he said there are advertisements for "Hiab drivers needed" which he could look into just to keep the money coming in at the start, so I realistically could be delivering anything (and hired out myself for another company) so I'm not sure how my days would be 😅

I think anything around the 40k mark is acceptable for hiab work, any more is a huge bonus. It is very much a marmite job though. You'll either love it or hate it there is no in-between. I personally loved the challenge and getting "stuck in" winter months not soo much being soaked wet through standing outside or in a boggy building site but always kept in mind it would soon be summer. It does take you to some very interesting places too that you wouldn't normally see delivering palletised loads

Do you prefer driving artics to wagon and drag, which would say was easier
@TruckerWillHiab5 ай бұрын
Depends very much on the situation, wagon and drag in smaller tighter areas like housing estates and country lanes (single track) much easier. But artics are soo much easier to reverse. a artic you can turn around in it's own length (a mini rounabout) a wagon and drag you'd need to take a shunt for sure.
@TruckerWillHiab5 ай бұрын
I honestly don't mind driving either. Like I say though depends on the situation as to what id rather be in at the time... for now I'm enjoying being back in a artic though
@Chris-xc3xz5 ай бұрын
Yeah I often see artics spin round on roundabouts like nothing where as even in a rigid with no trailer it would take a shunt or 2 😂
