TF - “Sommaren 2015 skakades Sverige av det brutala mordet på 17-åriga Lisa Holm. Vi som många andra följde nyhetsrapporteringen och händelseutvecklingen och berördes starkt av Lisas öde, speciellt som vi själva är föräldrar.
Vi skriver musik om saker som sker i samhället och som berör oss, och därför skrev vi “Calm Before the Storm”. Musikvideon har nu uppmärksammats i sociala medier och i media och vi har förstått att många har blivit illa berörda av den. Därför vill vi understryka att vår intention aldrig var att såra någon, utan att föra fram hur fel det är att sådana här saker händer i vårt samhälle. Vi skrev inte den här låten på något annat vis, eller med något annat mål, än någon annan av de låtar vi har skrivit under femton år som band.

This is actually based on a true story. Lisa Holm. She was last seen at a coffee shop she worked at. She sms'd her dad that she was on her way home. She didn't show up. Dad went to search for her and found her bike and the keys at the coffee shop parking. Police got involved and looked for her during the night. During the next few days they found lots of items that belonged to Lisa. They were led eventually to her body. Which was found inside a locker. Cause of death was strangulation possibly done by hanging (she was killed in a building across the cafe shop she worked at). DNA were found inside her clothes and around different places were some belonging were found scattered around a large area. The killer was a Lithuanian worker Nerijus Bilevicius 35. He was sentenced to life in prison.

So in my mind, music is a form of art, a form of expression, we're not living in a perfect world and we need to stand out and show whats wrong as much as whats right/beautiful. Everyone have the right to make their opinion but everyone also have as much right to portray the world and the events that shake us to our bones how they see it. Truckfighters are really kind, really good guys, with families, and positive intentions. This is not about profit. As an artist, you stop yourself from releasing more than half of the content you've been inspired to let out in the studio. At some point, you have to stop holding yourselves back. I really believe this was about releasing content as artists, that they were inspired to let out, and in the most sympathetic way they could without detracting from the reality of the situation. Profits are donated to her charity. Money is not the objective here. If money were the objective, ... do you not think this band could've taken on many other forms for that? If I did not learn about Kyuss over 15 years ago I may not have learned about Truckfighters or the rest of my favorite kind of music. If I didn't learn about Truckfighters I never would have seen this video and learned about the horrible and tragic death of Lisa Holm. I believe her name should be remembered and I see in this video the kind of happy and beautiful soul she was, compared to the tormented attacker. Discovering things like this happens in waves, and enrich you as a good person.

Good song, very well made video, i believe it to be a small way to add meaning and purpose into something meaningless, in memory and respect of the tragedy that happened to that girl and it brings violence against women a little bit further in to the open. I can understand how this can be hurtful or even offensive to some but try and see it as a tribute instead. RIP little girl, may you find peace again.

You only have to see the profile of people who are complaining about the video to realize that it's not worth to argue with them. If they want to make a point listen to all Truckfighters albums, you'll see and learn about heavy feelings. Someone who runs from their personal's tragedies and thoughts doesn't learn anything. This is an amazing! I love the cinematography of the video. The acting is great. My body is flowing along with changing rhythm of the beat. The music is fantastic. Im seriously shocked how many people got 'offended' by this, its ridiculous and stupid. There are many bands dedicated to serial killers/specific murder victims in their lyrics/album themes ENTIRELY, every single song. Yet nobody gets offended by that somehow. Jag tycker det var en bra video. Fattar inte varför folk gnäller så mycket om "respektlöst" osv. Ibland är konstens uppgift att kommentera saker som händer i samhället och som berör.. Hela Sverige berördes ju av Lisa Holm på ett sätt som nog saknar motstycke, så jag tycker det var bra, intressant och tänkvärt att det gjordes en musikvideo om det. Jag vet inte om familjen känner sig kränkta, men de har iaf ingen anledning att känna så tycker jag. De bör i såna fall försöka se detta som en hyllning till deras dotter istället. Vila i frid Lisa Holm!

The dislikes threw me off, this is a great memorial for the victim of a tragic event. I applaud the band for their well written song, and actions to remember this young lady. My only critique would be the confusing part at the bottom of the description section which states that this is ALSO Pale Moon by Asteroid....

Brilliant music video which brings out many emotions. I don't get all the hate if the band is donating to the family. I believe the band had the tragedy in mind while writing this song. It's similar to how Pearl Jam wrote Jeremy. if anything the uncensored music video of Jeremy is as graphic as this as it shows the boy shooting himself in front of his class with the video ending with his classmates being splattered by blood. Nonetheless the news of Lisa Holm us sad, RIP

I don't think this needs to be radicalized. We see so many movies made of horrible true stories, or similar things. Plus their daughter, isn't mentioned or whatsoever, for me and many others we didn't even know this was based on a true story, because it looked like a murder that we've already encountered in many movies. Simply the video was shot in a different perspective, which was really good to me. I liked it a lot!

They wouldn't need permission. Lisa is a very common name, and they call the guy a creep in the lyrics. Without a full name it wouldn't require permission in the slightest.

Hej there. In Short. Yes the song is about Lisa, and no we didn't ask for permission. We couldn't even imagine this being an issue as we didn't write the song with any hidden agenda or attempt to gain publicity. The intention was solely to write a song about this extremely tragic event that affected us deeply. We have kids as well and this was so wicked and wrong. We apologize if someone feel offended by it, this was not our intention. We wanted to pay tribute and give light to the unfair things that happen in this world (even in Sweden who is supposed to be one of the safest places on the planet). For the record the video director is an American guy and he did the research on English language articles about this case so those who are angry can if they want choose to aim their anger at the media. It seems no one really bothers to read the fuckin lyrics right here under the video. To me, they seem totally honest, written by someone that has really been touched by the girl's story and not made up to gain publicity with some scandalous song. If this actually triggers some national scandal there on the other coast of Baltic sea, then it's just another proof of human society being fuckin stupid and therefore a reason to write another song.
