Tony brought back so many memories of my days driving. I started in 1961 at the age of 20 and lasted untill 2ooo when I got hurt and was forced to retire. Damn I miss it so much. I loved the C.O.E.'s. I drove both O.T. R. and regional . It is so different today that the young drivers have no clue how good the old days were. Dave Suntken

Mike that was just brilliant. Talk about a genuine man that Tony is. With that Bean town accent and his love for trucking a part two of this video has to be in the works. I would love to here more stories of his over the road travels. My wife who puts up with my diesel addiction watched the whole video and said she finally understands after listening to Tony , why we love trucks. Thank you and have a great 2023 and you are knocking it out of the park with the Twin Sticks video and your buddy Rusty.

You got me when Tony decribed his trips from the East St. rotary down to Braintree. Grew up in Canton, and that is the same stretch of "route 128" that I drove as my introduction to expressway driving back in 1972... in a car, not a semi!!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Love hearing you guys go back and forth on the old trucks, the days when cabovers were cool, the young guys who don't have the same work ethic... Just one message back atcha... Do you think the the young guys (and girls) in every other proffession are the same as they were 50 years ago? Hell no!!! Keep fighting the good fight. The young generation(s) has always driven the old folks nunts, and always will. That their job!

This guy's golden, that accent is friggin wicked awesome, lol. Reminds me of the old time hardcore Boston crew we'd run into bringing lawbstah into Hunt's point market when my Uncle Bobby split from his brothers and was running produce, the guys from Boston would race back home and bet a sawbuck or two on who won, lol. And they had some faaaast rigs. We always left with a nice care package of incredibly fresh seafood when we saw them, real great men back then, a brotherhood. Your videos really bring back some great memories of my riding with my Granddad and Uncles and how it used to be, thanks Mike.

Wow Mike another cracking interview! Your really knocking it out of the park with these latest ones, been absolutely awesome. Loved hearing Tony's stories, great humor and heritage and seeing his cool old trucks. I can't wait for you to go back to see Tony and show us his old cab overs rolling down the road. Thanks again for the video, really appreciate it. And yes you'll have to come down to Australia and New Zealand, we have many cab overs running around daily here. Big mix of all the latest Australian built kenworth cab overs, European and Japanese cab overs here in NZ along with all the long nose too in many different configurations as well I reckon your be impressed. Take care mate and have a great 2023👍
@andrewmurphy7401 Жыл бұрын
Great video mate. It might interest you to know that the cabover is the number 1 seller for Kenworth in Australia due to the use down here of the B-Double in almost every transport task (similar to the Canadian B-Train but usually with an extra axle and slightly different configuration). The K200 (now upgraded to the K220) allows companies to run longer trailers to maximise pallet space and still fit in within the length laws for the B-Double. Many people also use bonneted trucks for this role, but they lose a little trailer length. The COE KW is also a big seller in New Zealand, as are the Euro cabovers. They mostly run 8X4 rigids pulling 4 or 5 axle dog trailers for most of their transport, from linehaul to livestock and everything in between. Keep up the good work mate, this stuff is gold.

I'm 23 and I've mainly driven my pops 98 Freightliner Classic since I was 18. Its got a 500hp 60 series that screams with 5 inch straight pipes. Gotta idle it in low with B-Trains through these Oregon fescue rye grass fields... they get bouncy. Especially in the freightshaker. It was my dads first truck and I love it more than anything. I have even spent about 3500 bucks of my own cash on the chrome over the years... Love rollin through town. God bless Mike!
