Thank you for a fantastic collection of picture from the "good old times".I am retired from truck driving since 2018 after 33 year in trucking industri as my one truck haulage and also as working for other haulage companies as employed truck driver.Three days after a had my 52 birthday a have enough money to get out of the truck driving industri to get retired and make money in Stockmarket instead as my biggest hobby nowadays.I remember the "good old days" more then a remember the last part in my truck driving career but I don`t miss that truck driving at all but I enjoy my memories from all people a have meet in my truck driving career and from some memorable runs wit many various goods and all various trucks.

When 1st passed my class 2 many moons ago I went from X Reg F7 8 wheel tipper JD Maw Sunderland absolute wreck and dangerous to drive..To a brand new FL10 F plate difference was night and day and that FL10 would do 70mph loaded anywhere and everywhere And it was compulsory you drove it @ 70 everywhere you went..11 loads a day from Wearmouth to Tyne Dock sometimes 12 loads a day absolute madness now when you look back and how we were back in the day…

JD Maw had a bad reputation but it was a job and paid the mortgage, hats off to the drivers , too many companies like that in the North East those days

passed my class 1 in a cargo ,worked for gagewell before it closed down. and if i wait long enough i may see a K G Sewell truck on here lol
